The Fundamental Message of the Earth Charter

Woodwardon goes on to explain, “The Earth Charter is around 2400 words long and contains sixteen principles. The preamble states that the world is becoming “increasingly interdependent and fragile” and calls for a “sustainable global society.” It states that the dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing “environmental devastation” and warns about overpopulation, the widening gap between rich and poor, the extinction of species and depletion of the world’s resources.

It goes on to call for the emergence of a ‘global civil society’ and states that “our environmental, economic, political, social, and spiritual challenges are interconnected.”

The underlying philosophy of the Charter is a pagan one, whereby Mother Earth and nature are to be worshiped, and as such it opposes the Judeo-Christian belief that God is separate from his creation and man has dominion over the Earth,” says Woodwardon.

This is the exact philosophy behind the purpose of Agenda 21, and in fact, the documents go hand in hand, much like the American Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution are inseparable as our nation’s founding documents. One, the Declaration, provides the philosophy behind the nation, the other, the Constitution, outline the way it is to be implemented. So too are the Earth Charter and Agenda 21. One, the Earth Charter, describes the philosophy, and Agenda 21 describes how is will be achieved,” points out Woodwardon..

Your local officials say, we aren’t imposing international policy – it’s all local. Well, consider the third document in this effort to connect the dots. This is taken from the government website of the state of Washington, Department of the Ecology. In reading it (available on the state’s official website http://www.ecy.wa.gov/Sustainability/) notice:

First in paragraph 3, it quotes “Our Common Future.” This was the special report from the Brundtland Commission This was the 1987 UN Commission on Environmental and Development, chaired by Gro Harlem Brundland, Vice President of the World Socialist Party. In that report the term Sustainable Development was first coined. And the report was the precursor to Agenda 21 and the Earth Charter.

The Washington state government document describes the Earth Charter as a “reference document.” In other words, the Earth Charter is being used by the government of the state of Washington as a guideline for state environmental and development policy.

Siskiyou County is a part of California that most people have never heard of.  Siskiyou County is about the size of Maine. Full of mountains, rivers, lakes and country folks.

Up until the 1990′s Siskiyou was a good place to be for a working family. Our county was based on the timber industry. Everyone who wanted a job had one. My family had Log truck drivers, mill workers, loggers, timber fallers and even started our own logging outfit just as Clinton and Gore were elected. Our logging company didn’t last long. As the woods were shut down, the mills and logging outfits withered away too. Most of the working people left and the young people went into fire fighting and other government agencies

The politicians started pumping out the legislation, regulation, codes and laws. All of our small communities dried up and became riddled with drugs, alcohol, despair and welfare. The state and county building codes became so ridiculous that contractors left for other states. Our streams became illegal to fish, gold mining was also outlawed.

Wind energy is a net jobs and economic loser. By raising electricity costs for factories, internet hubs, offices, malls, hospitals, school districts and other businesses, industrial wind power kills two to four jobs for every wind job created through government mandates, subsidies and tax credits – which themselves extract billions of dollars from productive sectors of the economy, to support Big Wind. Its impact on the budgets, health and well-being of people on low and fixed incomes is equally damaging.

From an ecological standpoint, wind is our least sustainable energy option. Industrial wind projects require huge swaths of land, often in pristine area, for turbines, access roads and ultra-long transmission lines. Turbines and transmission towers require enormous quantities of steel, concrete, rare earth metals, copper, unrecyclable fiberglass and other materials – more than fossil fuel power plants that generate 90% of US electricity. It makes far more sense to build conventional power plants, and forget about the wind.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service and American Bird Conservancy say wind turbines kill 440,000 bald and golden eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, cranes, egrets, geese and other birds every year in the United States. Turbines also eradicate countless night-flying, insect-eating bats. However, new studies reveal that these estimates are frightfully low, and based on misleading or even fraudulent data. The horrific reality is that, in the United States alone, “eco-friendly” wind turbines are killing an estimated  13,000,000 to 39,000,000 birds and bats every year!

The Interior Department has used sage grouse and lesser prairie chickens to justify prohibitions on oil leasing and drilling, and prosecuted oil companies for unintentional deaths of 28 mallard ducks in North Dakota – but it has never penalized a single wind turbine company for eco-slaughter. Now its Fish and Wildlife Service wants to issue “programmatic take permits” that would allow wind turbine operators to repeatedly, systematically, legally and “inadvertently” injure, maim and kill eagles, cranes and condors.

Possess a feather from an eagle killed by a wind turbine, trap a bat in your attic or smash a goose egg – and the penalties are swift and severe. But kill eagles, bats, geese or whooping cranes with a wind turbine, and there is no penalty and no outrage from the Sierra Club – only more subsidies and tax credits, and more exemptions from the Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act and NEPA/EIS studies.

Before acting on the PTC, Congress should demand an accurate and verifiable 2012 winter count for the whooping cranes, along with complete age class figures – and prohibit the Fish and Wildlife Service from implementing any programmatic take permit system for eagles and other birds. It should also demand a multi-year, independent, transparent study of bird and bat mortality, at every wind facility in America, before allowing the PTC to be extended or another turbine facility to be built in the United States.

Allowing current practices to continue – or worse, permitting Big Wind to expand to generate 25% of US electricity – would be a catastrophe of monumental proportions. Millions more birds and bats will die, and entire species will disappear from habitats, geographic regions and throughout the United States.

Agenda 21 is all about environmental control. It seeks to ration natural resources in the same way that Obamacare will ration healthcare. Energy will be rationed based on the assumption that our government owns all resources including food, water and land. Local Agenda 21 initiatives will mandate certain appliances and outlaw others based on energy consumption, and your energy consumption will be monitored so that you don’t “go over your limit.” Homes and buildings will have to be built or rebuilt to meet new “green” building codes or else face hefty fines. It seeks to transition citizens away from rural areas and into cities. It wants to “wean” people off private vehicles (because of “dirty” fossil fuels) and have them start using public transportation like high-speed rail. Outdoor recreational activities will be restricted because those practices are not “sustainable.”

“Social justice” means the abolition of private property. Here’s an excerpt from a report published at the U.N.’s Habitat I Conference in 1976:

Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice. . .

It’s not fair that individuals own land or property. What will make it fair is if it is collectively owned. . . .

A study by the National Center on Policy Analysis looked at the real effect of plastic bag bans on the economy in Los Angeles County, where a number of cities have recently passed the bans and county regulations have been phased in during the past couple of years.

The findings of the study were very clear. Businesses affected by the bag bans saw their business shrink by 6 percent, while those not covered by the regulations grew by 9 percent overall. The affected businesses reported a 10 percent spike in unemployment, while unaffected businesses reported 2 percent increased employment.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in July co-sponsored a “family planning” summit that marked the 100th anniversary of the First International Eugenics Congress in London.

Bill and Melinda Gates have been advocates of population control for some time, promoting contraception in Third World countries and other impoverished areas.

The Gates Foundation is involved in other projects to limit the births of “surplus” people, such as giving a grant to develop a form of ultrasound that makes men sterile, and partnering with the World Health Organization, which forces sterilization of women around the world.

And that’s the bottom line. Greenies want to save the world at your expense.

(Madison) – On Wednesday, July 18th, former Governor Tommy G. Thompson appeared at a Milwaukee-area candidate event sponsored by the Citizens for Responsible Government. At the event, Thompson was asked directly by an audience member to state his position on the United Nations Agenda for the 21st Century, more commonly known as Agenda 21. Thompson cited Agenda 21 as a non-binding United Nations (UN) plan that threatens property rights. He subsequently voiced strong opposition to Agenda 21 on property rights grounds.

Yet, the Wisconsin 9/12 Project notes a substantial gap between the Governor’s stated position and his actual record on the matter in question.

Regarding the first part of his response, Thompson was essentially correct. According to its own advocates, the 40-chapter Agenda 21 is a comprehensive blueprint intended to effect transformational societal change at the global, national, and local levels, in all areas in which humans directly affect the environment. Accessible on the UN’s website, Agenda 21 makes it difficult to find aspects of society that the UN does not aim to affect. It also reveals the profound threat Agenda 21 indeed poses to property rights, along with true representative government, national sovereignty, and a range of other constitutionally- and economically-related items.

However, as noted, Thompson’s stated opposition to Agenda 21 and his actual record are two different things. An article released on the Wisconsin 9/12 Project’s website today provides details around a little-known but significant memorandum of understanding (MOU) that the former governor signed in 1998 with the German State of Bavaria. Amounting to an agreement between the two states to pursue mutual aims, the MOU makes plain that its foundation is three specific chapters out of Agenda 21.

Moreover, several Wisconsin initiatives that pose a significant threat to property rights have arisen out of Agenda 21 and the Wisconsin-Bavaria MOU. Such initiatives include the state’s 1999 comprehensive planning mandate (more commonly referred to as “Smart Growth”), signed into law on Thompson’s watch. Also arising out of the Wisconsin-Bavaria MOU is the Department of Natural Resources’ increasingly high-profile Green Tier program, which was developed and piloted under the Thompson administration before finally being passed into law under Governor Jim Doyle.

Thompson, then, has a clear record of embracing Agenda 21, not rejecting it.

“The research of the Wisconsin 9/12 Project certainly indicates that Tommy Thompson knew what he was signing in Munich in 1998,” asserts organizer Kirsten Lombard. “We are also keenly aware of the policies he thereafter actively helped to advance—policies that to this day seriously undermine property rights and other constitutional freedoms. Regrettably, the damage didn’t stop when Thompson left the governor’s office. It’s ongoing. We would certainly love to see Thompson openly acknowledge his past actions and the profoundly detrimental effects in which they have resulted.”

The UN Rio+20 agenda means less freedom, happiness true justice and human rights progress.

To ensure that “sustainable development” permeates every aspect of society, the Group proposes a new “Sherpa” for Sustainability (with cabinet rank), a parliamentary committee on policy coherence for sustainability, a UN Sustainability Council, a Universal Periodic Review on Sustainability, and an Ombudsman for Intergenerational Justice and Future Generations. It also proposes an International Panel on Sustainability that builds on the “success” of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Of course, guiding all this would be the UN General Assembly.

The objective, they state, is to build economies that drastically limit carbon emissions, energy consumption, primary resource extraction, waste generation, and air and water pollution. Society must also stop the asserted and computer-modeled loss of species and ruination of ecosystems.

All this naturally will require mandatory changes in consumption patterns and lifestyles (at least for the common folk), and the recognition that work (unlike capital) is not a production factor. Indeed, says the Group, work is not even a commodity. Moreover, only “decent” work qualifies under the sustainability paradigm. (While “decent work” is never defined, it presumably includes backbreaking sunup-to-sundown labor at subsistence farming, which under the Group’s agenda would be called “traditional” or “organic” farming and would not be replaced by modern mechanized agriculture.)

The Agenda 21 and sustainability paradigm also rejects and undermines Adam Smith’s belief that mankind’s natural tendency toward self-interest, profit and self-improvement results in greater prosperity, opportunity, health, welfare and justice for all.

Most of all, the UN/Maurice Strong/ Civil Society Reflection Group vision is the latest embodiment of Plato’s Republic-- an educated, elite, but benevolent and mythical, ruling class acts on the belief that its self-appointed philosopher kings have all the right answers, and do not require the Consent of the Governed. The rest of humanity must fall into lockstep or face the consequences; however the results will be exemplary.

RIO + 20 -- TIME TO GO

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Twenty years after the first Rio “Earth Summit,” adopted the United Nations Agenda 21, the Rio + 20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development is poised to sign off a global governance agreement that ignores newly published scientific research. According to the U.N. executive summary, the Rio+20 agreement will include the following lunatic elements:
• Spending $ billions to achieve 80% CO2 emissions reductions by 2050;
• Enforceable worldwide environmental regulations;
• A global currency;
• A “sustainable diet” for all humans;
• Population control at “sustainable levels;” and
• Moving most people to cities, allowing half of the U.S. to revert back to “wildlands.”
Heading up Obama's unofficial entourage at the summit was that exciting lead lunatic, Senator John Kerry.   (A truly frightening chill runs down the spine of any cognizant patriot when one remembers how close we were to a mind numbing Kerry presidency.)

Virtually no mention of the law was made in the establishment press. But analysts said the measure was likely the strongest protection against the UN scheme passed anywhere in America so far. The law, aimed at protecting private property rights, specifically prevents all state agencies and local governments in Alabama from participating in the global scheme in any way.

The U.S. Senate, of course, has never formally ratified Agenda 21. But the executive branch — in conjunction with accomplices at the international, state, and local levels — has for two decades been quietly attempting to impose the plan on Americans by stealth, mostly using deceptive terms like “Smart Growth” and “Green.” And proponents of the global scheme consistently threaten that states seeking to protect citizens from the UN plot could end up losing some federal funds.

“Every time you take a dollar of federal money, there’s strings attached,” explained Ken Freeman, chairman of the Alabama-based group Alliance for Citizens Rights (ACR), an organization that fought hard to ensure that the Governor signed the bill into law. “We were originally walking soft on this issue, to tell you the truth, because when things were going our way, why change anything?”

. . . just to keep it real for those of us accustomed to the American way of life, here is what Maurice Strong, Secretary-General of the UN Earth Summit in Rio in 1992, said in his opening speech to the attendees: “Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class — involving high meat intake, the use of fossil fuels, electrical appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing — are not sustainable.” (Emphasis added.)

Based on Strong’s remarks, it doesn’t take much of an imagination to predict just how much downward pressure on our standard of living would be exerted by a sustainability oriented EPA.

It also doesn’t take too much talent at connecting the dots to understand that an EPA based on sustainability, an EPA that wants to pursue wellness, not treat disease, an EPA that wants to use “sustainability impact assessments” to analyze the probable effects of a particular project or proposal on the social, environmental, and economic dimensions of sustainability — that would be an EPA that would aspire to regulate in detail virtually every aspect of our lives, thus completely destroying our freedom and prosperity.

The point of all of the above is that even though the EPA is already guilty of vastly over-regulating us, an EPA based on an operational framework of sustainability would be much worse.

 There’s currently no legislation in Congress to stop the EPA from implementing the UN Agenda 21 concept of sustainability. Realistically, given the makeup of Congress, there’s virtually no chance that a bill could be passed this year to stop EPA implementation of Agenda 21.

Nonetheless, there have been very significant developments regarding sustainability at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) beginning with its 40th anniversary in late 2010. On November 30, 2010, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson stated: "Today I am formally requesting President Cicerone and the National Academies convene a committee of experts to provide to the U.S. EPA an operational framework for sustainability that applies across all of the agency’s programs, policies, and actions."

Here are some excerpts from the 286-page "Green Book":

• "The [UN’s World Commission on Environment and Development] called upon the UN General Assembly to transform its [1987] report into a global action plan for sustainable development. The nations of the world did precisely that at the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development, or 'Earth Summit,' in Rio de Janeiro. These nations, including the United States, endorsed a global sustainable development action plan, known as Agenda 21, and a set of 27 principles for sustainable-development, called the Rio Declaration. Together, these agreements modify the definition of development by adding a third pillar — environmental protection and restoration — to the economic and social pillars of development."

• "First, the committee recommends that EPA formally adopt as its sustainability paradigm the 'Three Pillars' approach of 'Social,' 'Environment,' and 'Economic' dimensions of sustainability.”

• "Sustainability impact assessment is used to analyze the probable effects of a particular project or proposal on the social, environmental, and economic pillars of sustainability.”

THEREFORE, IT IS APPARENT THAT THE NAS "GREEN BOOK" IS POSITIONING THE EPA TO BECOME THE PREMIER FEDERAL AGENCY FOR IMPLEMENTING AGENDA 21 IN THE UNITED STATES.

Monsanto has a patent to create seeds that do not produce seeds for next year’s crop.

So the farmer must purchase new seed every year, which leads to poverty in parts of the world.

There is a cold-storage facility in Norway with ordinary seeds, controlled by elites.

If our food sources are depleted and populations cannot replant because they can’t get seed populations die out.

This is a long read and would make a fascinating novel or movie.

Arizona Bill Would Ban UN Agenda 21 Within State

As nationwide opposition against the controversial United Nations Agenda 21 “sustainability” plan continues to build, a popular bill in Arizona that analysts say looks set to pass would prohibit all state agencies and political subdivisions from implementing or supporting any portion of the UN’s so-called “sustainable development” scheme. The legislation was approved by the state Senate last month and has already cleared initial hurdles in Arizona’s House of Representatives.
The two-page bill, known as SB1507, would prevent the state, county, and city governments of Arizona from adopting any tenets of the UN Declaration and the Statement of Principles for Sustainable Development. It would block any other international schemes that violate the U.S. or state constitutions as well.

UNDER THE PROPOSED LAW, ALL PUBLIC ENTITIES IN ARIZONA WOULD ALSO BE BARRED FROM COOPERATING WITH, FUNDING, OR IMPLEMENTING ANY PROGRAMS LINKED TO A CONTROVERSIAL GLOBAL ORGANIZATION KNOWN AS ICLEI (FORMERLY NAMED INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES). THE UN-BACKED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, BASED IN GERMANY, SEEKS TO FORCE THE "SUSTAINABILITY" PLAN ON THE WORLD BY STEALTH.

"Any way you want to describe it, Agenda 21 is a direct attack on the middle class and the working poor," sponsor Sen. Judy Burges said during a hearing on the bill last month; noting that even though the U.S. Senate had refused to ratify the global plan, former President Bill Clinton used an executive order to start foisting it on America by stealth anyway. "The primary goal of Agenda 21 is to create social engineering of our citizens and it will impact every aspect of our daily lives."
A Tea Party activist who testified at the hearing called Agenda 21 an insidious attack on American sovereignty in an effort to build a one-world order. He also said the Obama administration was using taxpayer-funded grants to prod state and local governments into implementing the "subversive" scheme.

In an e-mail to MSNBC, state Sen. Burges, a Republican, further explained why the legislation is desperately needed.
"THE BILL IS DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF ARIZONA CITIZENS AND PREVENT ENCROACHMENT ON THOSE RIGHTS BY INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS," SHE EXPLAINED. "WE HAVE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT AND WHEN ONE BRANCH PREEMPTS THE PROCESS THROUGH EXECUTIVE ORDERS, THE BALANCE OF POWER IS LOST IN THE PROCESS. IT IS THAT SIMPLE - NO MORE, NO LESS."

Among state Representatives, alarm about the UN agenda is building, too. State Rep. Terri Proud, for example, told supporters that the scheme “WILL TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS AS AMERICANS BY ALLOWING THE UNITED NATIONS TO MANDATE LAWS ON OUR SOIL. … IT’S VERY REAL AND IT IS HAPPENING.”

Another Republican, state Rep. Eddie Farnsworth, said the UN did not have America’s best interests at heart. "I have concerns about us giving up our sovereignty to the United Nations and the World Court," he explained.

The state lawmakers have also found strong support across America for their fight against the global “sustainability” scheme. Lawmakers in Tennessee, for example, just approved a bill slamming the UN agenda as an insidious socialist plot to dismantle national sovereignty and private property rights. Other states are considering similar resolutions even as a growing number of local governments continue to drop their controversial memberships in ICLEI.

At the national level, the Republican National Committee passed a resolution earlier this year blasting Agenda 21, too. And RNC members have publicly expressed support for the Arizona bill. “SB 1507 WILL PROHIBIT THE IMPOSITION OF UN AGENDA 21 HERE IN ARIZONA WHICH IS AN INSIDIOUS PLAN BY THE UNITED NATIONS TO FORCE THEIR GOVERNANCE ON OUR STATE, COUNTIES, MUNICIPALITIES, SCHOOLS AND EVEN NEIGHBORHOODS,” noted National RNC Committeeman for Arizona Bruce Ash, congratulating lawmakers for their efforts.
“UN AGENDA 21 PREACHES POPULATION CONTROL AS WELL AS CONTROL OF WHERE WE LIVE AND HOW WE LIVE. THE UN AGENDA STRIPS AMERICA OF OUR WEALTH AND THREATENS OUR SOVEREIGNTY,” he added. “If SB 1507 passes and is signed by Governor Brewer we will … protect our liberty and way of life. This is a must pass piece of legislation.”
Because the UN agenda’s tentacles have spread so far over the last two decades, analysts are not entirely sure how broad the legislation’s effect might be. THE BILL COULD, FOR INSTANCE, POTENTIALLY STOP “GREEN” CORPORATE WELFARE BY ENDING CONTROVERSIAL WEALTH TRANSFERS FROM TAXPAYERS TO BUSINESSES THAT CLAIM TO ADOPT “SUSTAINABILITY” MEASURES.

Some pro-Agenda 21 scaremongers, however, have attempted to drum up unfounded fears about the bill with hysterical and false claims about its potential effect on welfare programs. “We wouldn’t be able to use CFL light bulbs in state buildings because that would be considered energy efficiency,” alleged state House Minority Leader Chad Campbell, a Democrat. In reality, the bill would do nothing of the sort, and he almost certainly knows that.

Campbell also falsely claimed that Arizona’s welfare department could be dismantled under the bill. Ironically, he even said the state university system’s “sustainability” programs could disappear - saving taxpayers vast sums of money. However, fantasy-based straw-man attacks notwithstanding, it was not immediately clear why Campbell opposed the legislation.

"This is the most ludicrous bill I've ever seen in six years in the legislature," Campbell claimed. “It’s the most poorly crafted bill in this state.” He also made headlines with a ludicrous conspiracy theory of his own, claiming that “the Tea Party and conspiracy theorists run the state now.”

Rabid supporters of Agenda 21 continue to claim that critics of the UN schemes somehow believe in a “conspiracy theory.” Of course, the global “sustainability” plan is neither a conspiracy nor a theory. In reality, the documents are all online for the world to see.

BUT PRO-UN EXTREMISTS, LOBBYISTS, AND PEOPLE WHO DEPEND ON GOVERNMENT-MANDATED “SUSTAINABILITY” PROGRAMS FOR THEIR LIVELIHOOD ARE STILL ATTEMPTING IN VAIN TO MANUFACTURE AN OUTCRY AGAINST THE BILL. Some members of the establishment press, meanwhile, have been dutifully repeating the hysterical claims even though the UN’s own documents are available online.
The chief architects of the plan have made its nature very clear as well. "Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class — involving high meat intake, the use of fossil fuels, electrical appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning and suburban housing — are not sustainable," claimed UN Earth Summit Secretary-General Maurice Strong as he ushered in Agenda 21 two decades ago.

Despite efforts to paint opposition to Agenda 21 as a conservative movement, however, the broad coalition seeking to stop it largely transcends party lines – at least at the grassroots level. In Tennessee, for example, more than a few democrats joined the GOP majority to overwhelmingly pass a resolution condemning the UN schemes. And the organization “Democrats Against U.N. Agenda 21” has been a key player in exposing the global plot.

But even as efforts to defeat the agenda gain unprecedented momentum in the U.S., the UN is moving full-speed ahead toward doubling down on the controversial plan. Recently released official documents revealed that the global body plans to use its upcoming Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro — known as Rio+20 to mark the 20-year anniversary of the Earth Summit — to amass a broad array of new powers and literally re-make civilization.
The Arizona legislation must clear one more hurdle in the state House of Representatives, a roll-call vote expected as early as next week, before heading to Gov. Jan Brewer’s desk for her signature.
