The unspoken question is why we, as a society, put up with this. One answer might be the slow process by which we all acquiesced to their control.
Why should another generation or two of children be forced to attend poor-quality schools when we know, from books like this one, what the underlying causes are? Where is the outrage? Resource shortages are a major cause of conflict. And environmentalists have dedicated themselves to creating resource shortages in prosperous nations. Their campaigns against nuclear, domestic oil and coal production have been big on self-righteousness and short on consequences. And the consequences are that their scaremongering has not only cost millions of American jobs, it has forced us to keep sending money to Muslim oil states who use that money for domestic repression and international terrorism.
Environmentalists who agitate against pollution caused by foreign companies in the Third World need to take a long hard look in the mirror. In many cases it was their own campaigns which drove American companies into countries where they wouldn't be so tightly regulated. Rather than apply reasonable regulations, they made it their goal to wipe out entire industries. They didn't get their wish. Rather those industries moved abroad to places where there were no regulations at all. And the resulting misery that caused lies at their doorstep.
Like every tyrannical ideology it knows only one solution to every problem, more laws, more chains, more investigations and prison cells for anyone who disobeys.

The United State tax code exceeds seventy thousand pages. Many thousands of deals for special interests and constituencies are written into it. Ironically, in order to take advantage of available tax breaks, individuals and businesses spend unimaginable amounts of time and money to properly prepare their returns.

UNIONS, STUDENTS, SOCIALISM AND COMMUNISM
READER COMMENT: Everything's going according to Obama's and the Socialist Democrats plan. They wanted to "Fundamentally Transform America' into marxism and they're doing it! by using the Unions and our students in their Community Organizing across the Nation to do it.
The Unions, which are the Nations arm of the Socialist Dems, are doing their job of staging violent protests against everything that America stands for. We will go into a deep recession and godown to defeat if we don't keep fighting this massive Democrat Socialist take-over of America.
What frustrates me is that they're not being stopped by our law makers fast enough. This is a tight race between the Obama Socialist Democrats and our Lawmakers who can stop all of this. A sense of urgency and aggressiveness like Gov Brewer and Gov Walker have, would be in order now.

It's time to scrap the entire student loan program -- more $billions going where ? ? ?
Since student debt cannot be discharged in bankruptcy, and since universities get paid by the government, the universities (even legitimate ones) do not care how many lives they destroy. If colleges want to lend directly to students, nothing stops them. However, those debts should not be guaranteed by taxpayers.

Jack up the cost of education
Make students debt slaves for the rest of their lives
Unjustly hand over huge profits to schools like the University of Phoenix at taxpayer expense

Pulling huge quantities of wealth out of the ground isn't easy. Finding and refining oil takes knowledge of geology, drilling technology, finance, transportation logistics, and environmental science. Pulling even larger amounts of wealth out of taxpayers, however, takes only two things:
IGNORANCE AND ENVY
If the public weren't so ignorant and envious of such capitalist exercises as making gasoline, perhaps they might turn their attention toward the biggest cost in their lives and also the biggest reason gas prices are high: government. If the government would spend less time punishing and restricting energy exploration and delivery, we might have more energy. If the government, however, wants to raise the after-tax costs of producing energy, we will surely get less, driving prices higher still.

In truth Mother Nature will never allow any such thing as “equal outcome.” The only equality which is natural and unforced is that of equal rights and equal law – American Equality. Those who would enforce equal outcome through unequal rights and unequal law are tyrants – a self-serving class “more equal than others” – superior in rights – superior before law – superior in property. Americans agitating for equal outcome are agitating for Marxist Equality – which turns out to be equal serfdom for us and unequal (superior) ruling class status for them.
