MARINE SINGS FOR TEA PARTY
Sometimes changing a nation is as simple as acknowledging Who is in control. On a hot June day in Atlanta, a proud Marine dusted off a long-lost verse of The Star Spangled Banner to remind people of exactly that. Standing at the microphone of a Georgia Tea Party rally, Lewis Shaeffer patiently waited in line. When it was his turn, he hesitated for a second and then stunned the crowd by launching into a forgotten stanza of the national anthem.
"Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'"
When he finished, the crowd--many of them already on their feet--thundered its applause. But Lewis had already turned and walked away. "I hope nobody was offended," he said later. "I wasn't trying to be rude when I walked away from the mike. When a Marine executes his mission, he leaves."
And execute, he did. Video of the moment spread across the Internet like wildfire, racking up more than two million hits on YouTube and turning the former Marine into an overnight sensation. Lewis shrugs off the praise. "The nation seems bound on a collision course," he told one reporter. "I can't save the nation, but I can try to save some who have a willing ear and an open heart."

Blame Nancy Pelosi for Russian spies hiding in America

Why is there any surprise in America that the Cold War never really ended?
When the Soviet Union collapsed on its own misery, Communism struck out for greener pastures in the West. And you can’t get anymore “West” than America.
A place in the sun was being prepared in America for Mikhail Gorbachev, even before he abandoned ship.
This is what Gorbachev told the Politburo in 1989: “Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant change in the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our aim is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep.” (Italics CFP’s).
And disarming America is precisely what Gorbachev went on to successfully do.
It’s not as if if Gorbachev faded into the woodwork after his well celebrated arrival in America. To this day, he’s an active member of the Maurice Strong, George Soros triumvirate pulling the puppet strings of President Barack Obama.
No one eased the path for Gorbachev’s agenda to close federal military bases around the U.S. more than Nancy Pelosi.
“Pelosi’s involvement in the disposal of federal military surplus land is matched only by Gorbachev, who as founder of Green Cross International (GCI) devised a mechanism for converting American military bases to civilian uses converting the bases over to “global centers for sustainability.” (Canada Free Press, Nov. 15, 2006).
During her Presidio stint, it is alleged that she was an investor in a real estate investment called Presidio Partners.
Gorby hit the ground running upon his arrival in America. His mission of converting American military bases to global centers for sustainability came just two years after he resigned as president of the Soviet Union on Dec. 25, 1991.
CGI built on the 1992 Earth Summit in rio de Janeiro and supported the implementation of the Summit’s Agenda 21.
It was Nancy Pelosi who patiently shepherded Agenda 21 through Congress. On March 29, 1993 she introduced a joint resolution (H.J. RES166) to renew the call for the United States to “assume a strong leadership role in implementing Agenda 21and other Summit agreements”, eventually gathering 67 co-sponsors for her bill, roughly 30 of whom are still in Congress to the present day.
In a speech entitled “From Swords to Plowshares”, delivered in the House of Representatives on June 4, 1992, Pelosi cheered the arrival of Gorbachev to San Francisco’s Presidio as a tenant.
“The National Park Service is actively seeking ideas for programs and tenants at this spectacular site. Last month, former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev visited the Presidio to propose that the Gorbachev Foundation/use be located at the Presidio when the army leaves. In his words, `it is wonderful and symbolic that a military base is being converted for use by the people’.”
“As the cold war ends,” Pelosi continued, “it is, indeed, fitting that this army garrison—one of the oldest in the United States—will be transformed to a monument of peace, environmental preservation and recreation as a global park.”
Less than a year after Pelosi’s fawning words, Gorbachev and his 100% American, pre-funded $3.5 million Gorbachev Foundation moved into a white, shingled bayfront house at the historical Presidio overlooking the Golden Bridge.
This anti-American activist in office was one of Gorbachev’s most useful idiots as far back as 1992.
Now we find that the S.V.R., the successor to the Soviet K.G.B. planted Russian spies in the United States to gather information and recruit more agents.
“On Monday, federal prosecutors accused 11people of being part of a Russian espionage ring, living under false names and deep cover in a patient scheme to penetrate what one coded message called American “policy making circles”. (The New York Times, June 28, 2010).
Al Qaeda-like, the Russian spies had lived for more than a decade in American cities and suburbs from Seattle to New York, “where they seemed to be ordinary couples working ordinary jobs, chatting to the neighbors about schools and apologizing for noisy teenagers”.
The enemy among us, it seems, just came crashing through all conspiracy theories.
The easy road to America for the Russian spy ring busted by the FBI was paved long ago by the likes of Nancy Pelosi.
Too bad treason seems to have gone off the books with Benedict Arnold.

CONCERNS ABOUT ELENA KAGEN
When the Supreme Court meets today, it will be the last time Justice John Paul Stevens takes a seat on the bench. His long career on America's highest court will be over--just as the debate over his replacement begins.
Across the street, the Senate Judiciary Committee has launched into Day One of the Elena Kagan hearings--a process that she once criticized as "a vapid and hollow charade." In a 1990s review, the former Harvard Dean called for a thorough grilling of nominees, saying that there needs to be a "focused discussion of constitutional values, to ascertain the values held by the nominee and to evaluate whether the nominee possesses the values that the Supreme Court most urgently requires."
Since Kagan invited tougher questioning, it will be up to Republicans to provide it. As the Washington Times editors explain, there's no shortage of material on the President's pick. "What we now know about her should disturb fair-minded Americans, and should embolden moderate senators of both parties to avoid rubber-stamping her for a lifetime appointment. The pressure should be most intense not on Republicans, but on Democrats who claim moderation and yet try to explain away Ms. Kagan's history of leftist proselytizing...
We know she is remarkably lacking in courtroom experience... We know she deliberately ignored the law while at Harvard, and unfairly besmirched our military in time of war... We know she cut corners in order to preserve partial-birth abortions... We know she is willing to undercut First Amendment free speech for political purposes...
We know Ms. Kagan is hostile to gun rights... We know she believes foreign law is highly relevant to U.S. law... We know she believes judges should automatically favor certain classes of people and impose their own values to reach desired outcomes... And we know lots of other things about Ms. Kagan."
Above all, we know that her credentials will help this administration steer the court into a new level of liberal social activism. That will be among FRC's primary concerns during my testimony at this week's hearings. At the invitation of Chairman Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) and ranking Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions (Ala.), I've agreed to appear as an official Senate witness on Thursday afternoon.
Less than a dozen or so non-members are called upon to speak, so it is a distinct honor--and opportunity--for FRC as we work to highlight just how extreme this administration is in its policies and personnel. Stay tuned for more details about where and when to catch the proceedings, which also include former FRC intern-turned-Army Captain Pete Hegseth and FRC's former Vice President of Communications, Charmaine Yoest. In the meantime, please pray that God would use this time of testimony to accomplish His will for the courts--and our nation.

COMMUNIST GOALS -- 1963 SEEM TO BE MET IN AMERICA 2010
How did we get here? We were warned, but we didn't listen. Former Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson warned about what was coming in a 1966 speech where he talked about a meeting he once had with Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev:

After assuring him that I expected to do all in my power to assure that his and all other grandchildren would live under freedom, he arrogantly declared in substance: "You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright; but we'll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you'll finally wake up and find that you already have communism. We won't have to fight you; we'll so weaken your economy, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands."

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

In the early '60's during the days of the "former" Soviet Union, Russian Premier Nikita Kruschev pounded his shoe on the podium of the United Nations and shouted to the West, "We will bury you!" Fearing an invasion from the Reds, America proceeded to build the most awesome military machine in history. Unfortunately, we forgot to guard our political homefront from being taken over by socialist - communist - liberal activists who would gain office and destroy American law by process of gradually installing the Communist agenda within our legal system and seperate branches of government. The Communist program from the start has been one which sees their revolution of 1917 succesful only upon total domination of the world. Americans, being the most naive people among the nations, now believe that Communism is dead because the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain have been removed. The ironic truth is that Communism has just switched names to become more "politically correct". Today it is called international democracy.
The reason that the Berlin Wall came crashing down is not because Communism is dead but because they have achieved the planned agenda to communize the West, including America. Washington D.C. has indeed become part of the New World Order of atheist governments. With the last vestiges of Christian law having been removed from "American government" over the last twenty years, there is no longer a threat of resistance against world Communism. In reality, "American government" became part of the Iron Curtain, thus there was no more need for the likes of a Berlin Wall.
Once again, in their foolishness, the American public has believed the lies of their "leaders" who applaud "the fall of Communism", while they have sold out the country to anti-Christian, anti-American statutes and regulations on the federal, state, and local levels. Posted below is a comparison of the original ten planks of the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx in 1848, along with the American adopted counterpart of each of the planks, The American people have truly been "buried in Communism" by their own politicians of both the Republican and Democratic parties.
One other thing to remember, Karl Marx was stating in the Communist Manifesto that these planks will test whether a country has become commmunist or not. If they are all in effect and in force the country IS communist. Communism, but by any other name...??
1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.
The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868), and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
Misapplication of the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936.; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; and various State "income" taxes. We call it "paying your fair share".
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
We call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
We call in government seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986);
Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
We call it the Federal Reserve which is a credit/debt system nationally organized by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State.
We call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver's licenses and Department of Transportation regulations.
7. Extention of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
We call it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture. As well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Evironmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.
8. Equal liablity of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
We call it the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two "income" family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920's, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Fedral Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.
We call it the Planning Reorganization act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public "law" 89-136.
10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
People are being taxed to support what we call 'public' schools, which train the young to work for the communal debt system. We also call it the Department of Education, the NEA and Outcome Based "Education" .
So I ask you...does changing the words, change the end result? By using different words is it all of a sudden OK????? We are so "smart," aren't we??

U.S. Taxpayer Alert: We're About to Adopt Europe's Stealth Tax Model

We're headed for a massive tax increase.Federal spending is soaring at the same time that individual income tax revenues have fallen to multi-year lows. From their peak in April 2008, personal income tax receipts have fallen by $232.1 billion, or 24.6%.With few on Capitol Hill pushing for any significant reduction in expenditures, massive tax increases become inevitable.
The challenge for the politicians is to ratchet up the tax collections, but in the most politically acceptable – i.e., non-transparent – fashion possible.
The "value added tax" fits that bill perfectly. In its simplest form, a VAT is a tax on the creation of value. At each stage of producing a product, from raw materials to fabrication, to assembly, to packing and shipping, each company is responsible for paying a tax on the value it adds.
As the VAT is always included in the retail prices, and consumers never have to pay more at the cash register, the tax increase would be hidden. In fact, consumers would no longer see a sales tax at the cash register. While that stealth will make a VAT seem "painless" to many, it is also what makes it so dangerous.Most European countries introduced the VAT at rates around 10% and quickly raised it to the upper teens. Today most European countries have rates around 20% (the only notable exception is Luxemburg at 15%).
VAT rates have commonly been increased with hardly a whisper from the media. And they don't always go up in incremental single percentage points. Many European countries have raised rates three or four percent in one single year. In the case of Estonia, in 1993, rates increased by 8%.Before the widespread introduction of the VAT in Europe, in the mid-1960s, the average tax collected by European countries was only 27.7% vs. 24.7% of GDP in the U.S.
By 2006, the European tax burden represented 39.8% of GDP vs. 28% for the U.S.Put another way, in less than 50 years, Europeans have seen their taxes increase by 44% as a percentage of GDP, compared to slightly more than 13% in the U.S.When the Bush tax cuts expire next year, income taxes will increase from 35% to 39.6% for the top bracket and from 33% to 36% for the next highest bracket.
Further increases will be politically charged or ineffective in raising tax revenue significantly if applied only to the "rich."A 1% increase in personal income taxes on the 33% bracket brings in a mere $12 billion over ten years. Taxing the top bracket by an additional 1% brings only $71 billion over 10 years. However, the VAT will bring in an additional $1,242 billion over the same period. There's simply no comparison.
There is no question in my mind that the U.S. government will soon adopt this new tax and follow the lead of nearly 160 countries worldwide.Is there any way to protect yourself from the VAT? Is there any investment angle you can use to profit from its implementation?
Unfortunately, the answer to both questions is the same – no.The only hope to avoid the VAT is if the Democrats suffer serious losses in the mid-term elections this November and the Republicans remember they are anti-tax – leading to a political gridlock that keeps any sweeping grab for new taxes off the table for the time being.Good investing,Oliver Garret

DISCLOSE ACT -- H.R. 5157
Congress poses a serious threat to our freedom of speech, as protected by the First Amendment. H.R. 5157, the DISCLOSE Act.
The bill is a clear partisan political tool that would further expand government's reach into Americans' daily lives by restricting political giving and involvement in elections. The media are forever trying to create a division in the Republican Party between those who care most about so-called social issues and those who want priority for fiscal issues. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is the most recent politician to fall into this trap by asserting that the next president "would have to call a truce on the so-called social issues."
The truth is that social and fiscal issues are locked in a political and financial embrace that cannot be pried apart. Those who emphasize runaway government spending and out-of-control debt and deficits must face the fact that those trillions of dollars are being spent by government on social problems.
Those who care about Big Brother's dictatorial intrusions into our daily lives and privacy must come to grips with how and why Big Brother has vastly increased his regulatory power. Government powers, as well as the money in government's hands, have expanded to deal with social problems.
In order to reduce government's size and power, and restore the limited government sought by fiscal conservatives, they simply must address the social issues. It's the breakdown in our culture that has caused millions of Americans to depend on government for their living expenses and for solutions to their personal problems.
In the not-too-distant past, we had a society where husbands and fathers were the providers for their families. The 1.7 million out-of-wedlock babies born last year (41 percent of all births) and their unmarried moms now look to Big Brother as their financial provider.
The decline of marriage is not only the biggest social problem America faces today, but it's also government's biggest financial problem.
It is encouraging that some grassroots groups are now searching for remedies to the marriage problem. A ten-point agenda for rebuilding our society based on traditional marriage has just been articulated by two author-activists, David R. Usher of the Center for Marriage Policy and Mike McManus of Marriage Savers.
Their agenda recommends waiting periods both for marriage and for divorce. The agenda includes replacing our current system of unilateral divorce with permitting divorce based on two methods: Mutual Consent or Necessary Dissolution for defined and proven reasons.
Their agenda calls on churches to take the lead in fostering policies that promote and save marriage. This would include encouraging four to six months of marriage preparation so couples will know what they are getting into before they marry, and mentoring couples in troubled marriages.
Usher and McManus recommend effective shared parenting laws after divorce because all social studies show that children need parenting by both mother and father, unless a parent is found unfit.
Usher and McManus urge reforming welfare and child-support policies to remove financial incentives for non-marriage. Present policies of welfare-to-perpetual dependency should be replaced with policies that promote welfare-to-marriage because marriage is one of the best routes out of poverty.
The famous 1965 Moynihan Report on how welfare handouts destroy families by giving financial handouts only to women, thereby making husbands and fathers irrelevant, is now recognized as one of the most prophetic government reports ever written. The many financial incentives written into federal appropriations laws which promote cohabitation rather than marriage, must be eliminated.
Even Obamacare contains a marriage penalty by reducing the insurance subsidy when cohabiting couples marry. Financial incentives that penalize marriage are a reason why unmarried cohabiting couples soared from 430,000 in 1960 to 6.8 million in 2008. The ten Usher-McManus recommendations include the economic factor by urging us to bring back sustainable manufacturing jobs for working-class Americans.
Jobs used to be available to the average middle-class guy which enabled him to support his wife and children in their own home, but millions of those jobs have now gone overseas. The decline of marriage is the major cause of the growth of the welfare state. This year we the taxpayers are spending $350 billion to support single moms, and this amount increases every year.
That's only the start of the costs because social problems come out of female-headed households: crime, drugs, sex, teen pregnancies, suicides, runaways, and school dropouts. The left is content to let this problem persist because 70 percent of unmarried women voted for Barack Obama for president. They vote for the party that offers the richer handouts. Abortion is another major factor in the social-fiscal controversy.
The feminists who demand the right to abortion also demand that the taxpayers pay the costs, and the people who opposed Obamacare discovered that the abortion-funding issue almost enabled defeat of Obama's Health Control Law. Fiscal and social conservatives need each other. Remedying the culture and restoring a marriage society is the only way to reduce the size and costs of the welfare state.

Firms paid to shut down wind farms when the wind is blowing
Britain's biggest wind farm companies are to be paid not to produce electricity when the wind is blowing.

Energy firms will receive thousands of pounds a day per wind farm to turn off their turbines because the National Grid cannot use the power they are producing.
Critics of wind farms have seized on the revelation as evidence of the unsuitability of turbines to meet the UK's energy needs in the future. They claim that the 'intermittent' nature of wind makes such farms unreliable providers of electricity.
The National Grid fears that on breezy summer nights, wind farms could actually cause a surge in the electricity supply which is not met by demand from businesses and households.
The electricity cannot be stored, so one solution – known as the 'balancing mechanism' – is to switch off or reduce the power supplied.
The system is already used to reduce supply from coal and gas-fired power stations when there is low demand. But shutting down wind farms is likely to cost the National grid – and ultimately consumers – far more. When wind turbines are turned off, owners are being deprived not only of money for the electricity they would have generated but also lucrative 'green' subsidies for that electricity.
The first successful test shut down of wind farms took place three weeks ago. Scottish Power received £13,000 for closing down two farms for a little over an hour on 30 May at about five in the morning.
Whereas coal and gas power stations often pay the National Grid £15 to £20 per megawatt hour they do not supply, Scottish Power was paid £180 per megawatt hour during the test to switch off its turbines.
It raises the prospect of hugely profitable electricity suppliers receiving large sums of money from the National Grid just for switching off wind turbines.
Dr Lee Moroney, planning director of the Renewable Energy Foundation, a think tank opposed to the widespread introduction of wind farms, said: "As more and more wind farms come on stream this will become more and more of an issue. Wind power is not controllable and does not provide a solid supply to keep the national grid manageable. Paying multinational companies large sums of money not to supply electricity seems wrong."
Earlier this year, The Sunday Telegraph revealed that electricity customers are paying more than £1 billion a year to subsidise wind farms and other forms of renewable energy.
The proceeds of the levy, known as the Renewables Obligation (RO), are divided between the main renewable energy sources, with wind receiving 40 per cent, landfill gas 25 per cent, biomass 20 per cent, hydroelectric 12 per cent and sewage gas 3 per cent.

After talking to a LOT of people about renewables (like wind power — the illegitimate offspring of AGW), my conclusion is that almost everyone has only a superficial understanding of this very technical matter. Additionally, the public and political perception of wind energy is being driven by special interest lobbyists, and by “environmentalists” who are well-intentioned but misguided.
My belief is that such complex technical matters should be based on science, rather than on inputs from those who stand to economically or politically profit.

RESISTNET -- GET OUT THE VOTE (GOTV)
A message to all members of Patriotic Resistance
Part One
What should be the top priority of constitutional conservatives at this time prior to the Nov. 2 elections? And our top strategic objective?
It’s obvious, isn’t it? Our top priority should be getting involved to accomplish the strategic goal of ELECTING CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES.
That’s the GOAL.
But, HOW do we get there? How do we make sure that after the primary, the candidates we favor get the most votes? We accomplish that by encouraging every possible voter to actually vote. Do you know that only about 65 per cent of eligible voters voted in the 2008 presidential election? And that only about 25 per cent of eligible voters cast votes in the recent Nevada primary, where the best constitutional conservative in the race, Sharron Angle, won? She would have won by a much greater margin had more constitutional conservatives voted.
We conservatives need to stop organizing more rallies and protests and start organizing Get Out The Vote (“GOTV”) efforts.
We need to stop preaching to the choir and, instead, need to get organized to get out the vote in our individual precincts. We need to make sure every conservative Republican gets to their voting booth in the remaining primary elections to vote for the best conservative Republican candidates. We need to make sure every Republican, every conservative independent, and disgruntled Democrat gets to the polls on Nov. 2 to vote for the Republican candidates. And we need to start that organizing NOW because in only a few months, absentee voter ballots are going to be mailed to voters.
How do we constitutional conservatives get these voters to the polls? Well, you need a walking list for your precinct that tells you where the Republican, independent and Democrat voters live. Some of them have given their phone numbers to the Board of Elections. How do you get your hands on those precinct “walking sheets,” as they are called? Well, you can buy them from your local Board of Elections. If you’re a conservative, you can get them for FREE by getting to your local Republican Party committee meeting and volunteering to get involved in GOTV efforts.
Indeed, if you’ve taken the advice of our “unofficial helper” Cold Warrior at www.resistnet.com/group/invadethegop and already become a precinct committeeman, you know all this.
We need to “pivot,” as the political pundits say. We’re at an “inflection point,” as the communist/Marxist Van Jones would say.
We need to now take our “tea partying” indoors and start organizing for GOTV.

Your precinct (might be called “ward” or something else in your state)?
Do you know any other conservatives in your precinct?
Do you know any of your Republican precinct committeemen in your precinct?
Do you know the number of your Legislative District and when and where your district committee meets?
Do you know the names of your two State Representatives and Senator?
For the next few months, those of us who may have never been involved in actual “party politics” needs to get involved in GOTV efforts.
Cold Warrior and I suggest that you start with the political party of your choice. If you’re a constitutional conservative, we believe that choice will be the Republican Party. We believe it’s the best political hammer in the political toolbox for HAMMERING the Debtocrats at the polls. Start there. The Republican Party may already have organized where you live to get out the vote. They may be able to assign you to a precinct committeeman or a team that will have phones, walking lists, etc. Some of you may have already assisted in some of the primaries – maybe for Doug Hoffman in NY-23 or for Scott Brown for “the Kennedy’s senate seat.” But we also have to make ourselves available to actually go door-to-door if necessary.

What should be the top priority of constitutional conservatives at this time prior to the Nov. 2 elections? And our top strategic objective?
It’s obvious, isn’t it? Our top priority should be getting involved to accomplish the strategic goal of ELECTING CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES.
That’s the GOAL.
But, HOW do we get there? How do we make sure that after the primary, the candidates we favor get the most votes? We accomplish that by encouraging every possible voter to actually vote. Do you know that only about 65 per cent of eligible voters voted in the 2008 presidential election? And that only about 25 per cent of eligible voters cast votes in the recent Nevada primary, where the best constitutional conservative in the race, Sharron Angle, won? She would have won by a much greater margin had more constitutional conservatives voted.
We conservatives need to stop organizing more rallies and protests and start organizing Get Out The Vote (“GOTV”) efforts.
We need to stop preaching to the choir and, instead, need to get organized to get out the vote in our individual precincts. We need to make sure every conservative Republican gets to their voting booth in the remaining primary elections to vote for the best conservative Republican candidates. We need to make sure every Republican, every conservative independent, and disgruntled Democrat gets to the polls on Nov. 2 to vote for the Republican candidates. And we need to start that organizing NOW because in only a few months, absentee voter ballots are going to be mailed to voters.
How do we constitutional conservatives get these voters to the polls? Well, you need a walking list for your precinct that tells you where the Republican, independent and Democrat voters live. Some of them have given their phone numbers to the Board of Elections. How do you get your hands on those precinct “walking sheets,” as they are called? Well, you can buy them from your local Board of Elections. If you’re a conservative, you can get them for FREE by getting to your local Republican Party committee meeting and volunteering to get involved in GOTV efforts.
Indeed, if you’ve taken the advice of our “unofficial helper” Cold Warrior at www.resistnet.com/group/invadethegop and already become a precinct committeeman, you know all this.
We need to “pivot,” as the political pundits say. We’re at an “inflection point,” as the communist/Marxist Van Jones would say.
We need to now take our “tea partying” indoors and start organizing for GOTV.

The cross examination, carried out by Jason Scott Johnston, Professor and Director of the Program on Law, Environment and Economy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, found that “on virtually every major issue in climate change science, the [reports of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] and other summarizing work by leading climate establishment scientists have adopted various rhetorical strategies that seem to systematically conceal or minimize what appear to be fundamental scientific uncertainties or even disagreements.”
Professor Johnson, who expressed surprise that the case for global warming was so weak, systematically examined the claims made in IPCC publications and other similar work by leading climate establishment scientists and compared them with what is found in the peer-edited climate science literature. He found that the climate establishment does not follow the scientific method. Instead, it “seems overall to comprise an effort to marshal evidence in favor of a predetermined policy preference.”
