How does Planned parenthood get away with claiming only 3% of its business is abortion? – Dave Andrusko – 8/29/2013

So how much money DOES PPFA take in from performing abortions?

I asked Dr. O’Bannon for a more exact breakdown, based on his years of experience following Planned Parenthood. He told NRL News Today

“Abortion is a huge profit center for PPFA. At going rates for a standard surgical abortion performed at 10 weeks, the 333,964 abortions Planned Parenthood performed represent an income of at least $150.6 million. And it is no secret that Planned Parenthood advertises and performs more expensive chemical and later surgical abortions, indicating that abortion revenues are likely considerably higher. Collectively, the organization and its affiliates took in nearly $1.2 billion in revenues ($1,199,100,000 to be exact).”

Referring to PPFA’s Planned Parenthood’s 2011-2012 Annual Report, O’Bannon added,

“Planned Parenthood received over half a billion dollars ($542.4 million) in ‘Government Health Services Grants and Reimbursements.’ This represents more than 45% of the group’s annual revenues. While federal monies for abortion are currently limited by the Hyde Amendment to cases of rape, incest, or life of the mother, at least 17 states and several local communities can and do fund abortions. With the onset of ObamaCare, that amount could mushroom.”

We all understand why PPFA minimizes the enormous amount of money it takes in from abortion; why it would prefer to talk about anything other than the 339,964 abortions it performed in 2011 (that’s one lost life every 94 seconds); and most of all the grim truth that about one out of every nine women coming through Planned Parenthood’s door will have an abortion!

But all the misleading talk in the world about “only 3%” of its services can’t obscure the reality that PPFA is the largest abortion provider in the nation and is taking aggressive steps to expand that murderous empire

Obama’s legacy:  Pro-abortion president or catalyst for pro-life action? – Susan Michelle Tyrrell – 8/29/2013

The story reports:
At least 54 abortion providers across 27 states have shut down or ended their abortion services in the past three years, and several more clinics are only still open because judges have temporarily blocked legislation that would make it difficult for them to continue to operate.

And even the abortion industry says this isn’t the usual ebb and flow of business:
“This kind of change is incredibly dramatic,” said Elizabeth Nash, state issues manager at the Guttmacher Institute, a reproductive health research organization. “What we’ve been seeing since 1982 was a slow decline, but this kind of change … [is] so different from what’s happened in the past.”

When President Obama was elected the first time in 2008, pro-lifers reacted swiftly, and by the 2010 midterm elections, hope and change had actually come in the form of pro-lifers fighting for the rights of the unborn and enacting legislation that would battle the new president’s abortion support.

Only history will tell of the ultimate outcome, but so far the winner of the 2008 and 2012 elections was actually the unborn, some of whom got to live because sleepy people woke up from the reality that we had just elected someone who supported virtually all abortion.

Obama announces 2 more executive orders to go after guns
Freedom Outpost – Tim Brown – 8/29/2013

While the Obama administration calls these "common-sense" proposals, they are actually unconstitutional proposals as we have cited beforeFirst, the administration wants to close a loophole

Now comes the reasoning.

"However, felons, domestic abusers, and others prohibited from having guns can easily evade the required background check and gain access to machine guns or other particularly dangerous weapons by registering the weapon to a trust or corporation.  At present, when the weapon is registered to a trust or corporation, no background check is run.  ATF reports that last year alone, it received more than 39,000 requests for transfers of these restricted firearms to trusts or corporations."

Now wait a minute! Since when have we heard of criminals turning up with weapons that have been registered to trusts and corporations?

Furthermore, can we honestly trust the ATF on anything? These were the guys who knowingly participated in walking guns illegally over our southern border into the hands of known criminal cartels! The agency is the one not performing the job of prosecuting those breaking the illegal laws in the first place! The National Rifle Association, ripped the administration, saying "The Obama administration has once again completely missed the mark when it comes to stopping violent crime."

"Requiring background checks for corporations and trusts does not keep firearms out of the hands of criminals. Prohibiting the re-importation of firearms into the U.S. that were manufactured 50 or more years ago does not keep firearms out of the hands of criminals. This administration should get serious about prosecuting violent criminals who misuse guns and stop focusing its efforts on law-abiding gun owners," the NRA said in a statement.

If you aren't awake yet, you should be. This is all about removing our ability to defend against tyranny. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Military-grade weapons should be in the hands of the citizens just as much as in the hand of the military! That is the purpose of the Second Amendment. It was to ensure that we had equal weapons in order to secure a free state from tyranny, such as the current regime residing in Washington.

Missouri poised to enact measure nullifying federal gun laws
Fox News – 8/29/2013

The Republican-led Missouri Legislature is expected to override Gov. Jay Nixon’s veto of a bill that would expand gun rights and make federal gun regulations unenforceable -- even as similar laws adopted in other states to buck federal gun rules face legal challenges.

Several of Nixon’s fellow Democrats told The Associated Press that they would vote to override his veto when lawmakers convene in September, even while agreeing with the governor that the bill couldn’t survive a court challenge. Many of them noted that in some parts of Missouri, a “no” vote on gun legislation could be career ending.

The legislation would make it a misdemeanor for federal agents to attempt to enforce any federal gun regulations that “infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms.” The same criminal charges would apply to journalists who publish any identifying information about gun owners. The charge would be punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Nixon said the bill infringes on the U.S. Constitution by giving precedence to state law over federal laws and by limiting the First Amendment rights of media.

“My abortion was a horrifying experience, women were treated like cattle”
LifeNews – Steven Ertelt – 8/26/2013

Carla Stream knows what it’s like to experience an abortion decision she would later come to regret. Her personal story is one she has shared before and she calls it a “horrifying” experience where women were subjected to being treated “like cattle.”

“I was 24 when I found out I was pregnant. I didn’t know what to do and wasn’t sure to whom I could turn,” Stream says. “I told my roommate who offered to drive me to an abortion clinic. The only other person I told didn’t say anything.”

“I didn’t want an abortion. I wanted help and hope and support. My fear and confusion quickly became desperation. I was so unsure of myself, and yet the only choice I could see was abortion. I took that ride from my roommate,” Carla continues.

Like so many other women who go to abortion clinics, Carla was given very little information ahead of time.

“My abortion was the most horrifying experience of my life. The women were treated like human cattle. I was told over and over about “a bunch of cells,” even though I was 10 weeks along. I was only asked, “Will that be Visa or MasterCard today?” I believed all of the lies that I was told,” Stream explains.

Some women come to regret their abortions years later while others, like Carla, begin to experience doubts about their decision very early on.

She says: “The relief lasted about a day, and then denial set in. I went right back to drinking and partying and struggled with depression and guilt. I felt that I had done something wrong but didn’t know what to do about it. I had nightmares and suicidal thoughts, and I made one suicide attempt. I guess that is what is called “getting on with your life.”

The, Carla experienced the kinds of problems in subsequent pregnancies many women experience.

Stream says: “Five years later, I was married and pregnant. I was very excited and longing to somehow make up for what I had done. Ten weeks into my pregnancy, I started to bleed. I was told my baby’s heart had stopped beating. I was miscarrying. I ended up delivering that little one into my hand. I saw with my own eyes that this WASN’T “a bunch of cells”! I saw tiny toes, feet and legs, fingers, hands and arms, a tiny little rump, and a precious little face.”

Ultimately, she’s been finding hope and healing through a recovery program.

She concludes: “I began the journey of abortion recovery. It has not been easy. I had to accept the truth and face the pain and grief of loss. I have received grace and forgiveness and now offer that to other women through Rachel’s Vineyard.”

13 Maine Republicans Flee the Party
DownTrend - James Daniels - 8/20/2013

Bangor Daily News published an interesting letter Monday from 13 Maine Republicans to State GOP Secretary Chuck Mahaleris. The letter, signed by six Maine Republican state committee members, a state RNC member and six other registered Republicans, addresses numerous glaring problems within the party both at the state and federal level.

One of their most notable criticisms is that of Speaker of the House John Boehner. The defecting Republicans condemn him for his decision to purge the most fiscally conservative Republicans from their leadership positions in late 2012.
And, they criticize the House’s “utter disdain” for the Constitution in its handling of the Amash Amendment, which would have restrained NSA surveillance.

Wisconsin abortions at all-time low
National Right to Life - Barbara L. Lyons - 8/23/2013

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Induced Abortion Report for 2012 shows a 4.4% decrease in Wisconsin abortions. What fantastic news for babies and their mothers who choose life for them!

Abortions dipped from 7,249 in 2011 to 6,927 in 2012, accounting for the 4.4% decrease.
Wisconsin abortions have decreased 68% from their all-time high in 1980 and 60% since Wisconsin began requiring abortion reporting in 1987.

National Education Association:  Just say No to common Core tests
Education Reporter

The NEA struggles to remain solidly aligned with the Democratic Party although the union opposes most of Pres. Obama’s education policies. At the 2013 National Education Association convention in Atlanta, union leadership both promoted Common Core standards and fought against them.

The union seems afraid to directly rebuke President Obama and his policies. Delegates introduced — but failed to pass — two measures that condemned Obama’s education policies outright and were critical of Secretary of Education Arne Duncan; both measures called on Obama to fire Duncan.

The NEA passed several “New Business Items” designed to protect teachers from Common Core. Some observers ask: WHAT ABOUT THE STUDENTS? What about the future of public education? Although the NEA could be a force against Common Core and the federal takeover of American education, the union seems too aligned with the Democratic political machine to do more than squeak about testing that could negatively impact their own job security and paychecks.

The NEA union wants American students to adapt to Common Core standards and tests but they would prefer that Common Core doesn’t affect teachers.

NEA:  Dues up, membership down
Eagle Forum
Full-time union teachers will pay $179 in national dues for the 2013-14 school year. This is in addition to dues paid to their state affiliate; for Ohio Education Association members, state dues are an additional $508. Ohio is not a right-to-work state, so most teachers must join the union. In Virginia, a right-to-work state, fewer than 20% of teachers join the union.

While the NEA is still the largest workers union in the nation, membership is down. Some teachers choose to quit the union as state laws change to allow this. The union is more socially liberal than the majority of teachers and some do not subscribe to the radical union agenda. Union President Dennis Van Roekel still claims three million NEA members, but the modified 2013-14 NEA Strategic Plan and Budget predicts 2,410,200 full-time members.

Of those, 1,685,000 are “active teaching professionals.” The balance is made up of those who do not pay as much in dues as teachers such as education support professionals, staff, substitutes, retired, and student members. Total NEA annual dues amount to over $347 million.

The union Executive Committee received a 3% bonus at a time when other budget areas are being cut. Some union members were unhappy about this. Delegates at the 2013 convention passed New Business Item 47, which demands that union leadership provide justification for any future bonus they receive.

Employment doom rattling media
Townhall – John Ransom - 8/24/2013

In the U.S. the number of employed has only grown by 922,000 people since July of last year. And as many have noticed, over 70 percent of those jobs are part time.

The growth of the labor force itself has slowed so much that it has caused the BLS to revise previous projection of the growth of the labor force through 2012-2025 from 0.9 percent annually to 0.8 percent annually, according to HousingWire.

This is the Democrats’ economy. It’s everything they asked for:

  • nationalized healthcare
  • auto bailout
  • pork barrel spending we call stimulus
  • the opportunity to put a million electric vehicles on the road
  • solar
  • unions in government

It’s because they got nationalized healthcare, and they got the auto bailout, and they got the pork barrel spending we call stimulus; plus they got the opportunity to put a million electric vehicles on the road; AND because they invested in solar, in unions and in government that we have the worst recovery ever.

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

"Jose Illegal". also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention....

Joe Legal $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax;
Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

"Jose Illegal". $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes.
Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year.
Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.

"Jose Illegal". has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics and emergency hospitals at a cost of $0.00 per year.
Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food,
or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

"Jose Illegal". has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps, WIC and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has 9,631 .00.

"Jose Illegal". receives a $500.00 per month Federal Rent Subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year.
Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for car insurance. Some of that is uninsured motorist insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

"Jose Illegal". says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc..

"Jose Illegal". has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month..

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

"Jose Illegal". has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same elementary school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches,
while "Jose Illegal" children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program.

Joe Legal's children go home.

Now, when they reach college age, Joe Legal's kids may not get into a State School and may not qualify for scholarships, grants or other tuition help, even though Joe has been paying for State Schools through his taxes, while "Jose Illegal" kids "go to the head of the class" because they are a minority.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

Mark Levin:  A modern-day Constitutional prophet
Townhall – David Limbaugh – 8/23/2013

When Mark Levin decided to write his book "The Liberty Amendments" to advocate a convention to propose a series of amendments to the U.S. Constitution, he may not have realized how quickly and deeply his profound idea would resonate. But throughout the nation, people are inclining their ears.

The first obstacle Levin faced was the widespread misconception that he is calling for a constitutional convention that could be hijacked by enemies of our founding principles and converted into a forum to hammer the final nails into our constitutional republic by fundamentally and radically changing our founding document.

In fact, Levin's proposal couldn't be more at odds with that misperception. He is, first and foremost, a constitutionalist. His goal is neither to eradicate nor to substantially change the Framers' blueprint for government. It's to restore it with specific, defined amendments intended to re-establish the proper balance between the power of the government and the liberty of its citizens, with due emphasis on the latter.

Mark Levin is a modern-day constitutional prophet whose purpose is not to revamp the Constitution. It is to revive it and refurbish it -- to restore the cracks in its foundation caused by lawless officials through the years who were more interested in guaranteeing outcomes than they were liberty.

Today's statists have no regard for the Constitution or rule of law and have severely weakened it in many places, and as a result, our liberty, our prosperity and our very nation are in decline and in grave jeopardy.

Mark Levin is calling on us to take corrective steps -- through a process anticipated and expressly sanctioned by the Framers, no less -- to restore our system and reinvigorate our liberties. Let's pray his effort becomes an inexorable movement that sweeps the nation like the Great Awakening.

Is Obama good for Black Americans?
Townhall – Mona Charon – 8/23/2013

Median family income for black Americans has declined a whopping 10.9 percent during the Obama administration. It has declined for other groups as well -- 3.6 percent for non-Hispanic whites and 4.5 percent for Hispanics - but the figure for blacks is huge. This decline does not include losses suffered during the financial crisis and the recession that followed, but it instead measures declines since June 2009, when the recession officially ended.

That's not the only bad news for African-Americans. The poverty rate for blacks is now 25.8 percent. The black labor force participation rate, which rose throughout the 1980s and 1990s, has declined for the past decade and quite sharply under Obama to 61.4 percent. The black unemployment rate, according to Pew Research, stands at 13.4 percent. Among black, male, high school dropouts, PBS' Paul Salmon reports, the unemployment rate is a staggering 95 percent.

Black poverty is up, employment is down and wealth is down. The dissolution of the black family continues unabated, with 72.3 percent of black children born to unmarried mothers. Black males constitute just 6 percent of the population yet comprise more than 40 percent of those incarcerated in state and federal prisons and jails. One-third of black men aged 20 to 29 are in the purview of the criminal justice system (incarcerated or on probation or parole).

Would it interest black moviegoers to know that under Ronald Reagan's policies, median African American household incomes increased by 84 percent (compared with 68 percent for whites)? The poverty rate dropped during the 1980s from 14 percent down to 11.6 percent. The black unemployment rate dropped by 9 percentage points. The number of black-owned businesses increased by 38 percent and receipts more than doubled.

Post-abortive Mom:  Abortion will bring about a devastation you never knew could exist
LifeNews - Nancy Flanders – 8/22/2013

Marquis recalls the experience:

They don’t tell you that you have the option of anesthesia. It was extremely painful and no one prepares you for that. There was nothing kind or compassionate about it. It was an assembly line procedure. And it was extremely painful physically and in an emotional and spiritual sense. I didn’t feel like anyone cared that I had tears streaming down my face. It was in and out. And I have really come to recognize that this is big business.

The pain over her decision to have an abortion did not truly surface until she became pregnant with her next child.

“Nobody told me,” she explains, “that it might come back to you when you have the ultrasound of the children you want to have. There I was looking at this ultrasound of the baby growing inside me and [I was] screaming in my mind that that was a baby you aborted. A baby that you killed. I stuffed it down for a very long time and tried to silence that voice.  Looking back on that decision it was the most selfish thing I ever did in my life because it was all about me wanting to live life on my terms.

Marquis says another thing no one ever told her was that having that abortion would make her keep her future children at arm’s length. Afraid that God would retaliate for her abortion by harming one of her other children, Marquis didn’t allow herself to engage with her children. It wasn’t until she came to grips with her abortion that she was able to become a true presence in her children’s lives and completely bond with them.

No one told Marquis at the abortion clinic about how broken she was going to be. That she would spend years and years trying to fill a void with everything from people to experiences to alcohol because there was an aching need inside of her that she just didn’t know how to fix.  Marquis explains that the clinic won’t tell women any of this, quite simply because that isn’t their purpose. Their purpose is to get a woman’s money and to get her in and out.

It wasn’t until her two children were in middle and high school, that Marquis finally sought help for her post-abortive feelings of remorse and guilt. She knew that she was never going to get better until she came to terms with her decision to abort.

Through a series of events, Marquis was introduced to Surrendering the Secret, a post-abortive study and support group. Marquis was able to experience the study and began to realize that most of her adult issues came back to her abortion and to the frame of mind that many things in life are disposable. What should be sacred is not sacred, from relationships and marriage to our own children. She credits Surrendering the Secret with saving her because it completely changed the trajectory of her life.

Marquis hopes that any woman considering abortion will realize that it isn’t a problem solver, but that it’s actually going to “bring about devastation that you had no idea could exist”.

She also wants women to know the facts. According to numerous studies, abortion can cause mental health problems among women who have abortions. A 2011 study in the British Journal of Psychiatry found that women who have had abortions have a 61% increased risk of mood disorders as well as a 261% increased risk of alcohol misuse and a 313% increased risk of drug misuse. In addition, they show a 61% increased risk of social phobia, and a 59% increased risk of suicidal thoughts.

Bikers to counter Muslim march
WND – Bob Unruh – 8/21/2013

Muslims who have begun promoting a 9/11 march in Washington that originally was to protest “anti-Islamic bigotry in the U.S.” and then turned into a “March Against Fear” may have some competition.

Loud competition. Very loud. And lots of it.

In what was a virtual impossibility before the Internet, a Facebook page has been created in which many individuals are coordinating what they have dubbed “2 Million Bikers to DC.”

At the Mr. Conservative blog, the author said: “The best way to counter bad speech is to oppose it with good speech. Sometimes ‘speech’ can be expressed simply by the number of people who are willing to show up to support a principle. That’s the view that hundreds of bikers (so far) across American have as they prepare to join a ’2 Million Biker Ride to DC’ to counter the planned Sept. 11 ‘Million Muslim March.’”

“It is amazing how fast they changed the original language on their website claiming victimhood, bigotry, and unfair treatment since Sept. 11th 2001,” Gabriel said. “Once they were confronted and debated by people like me who pointed out to them that in the last four years alone we have arrested on American soil 226 home grown terrorists. One-hundred eighty six of them were Muslims. Not Jews. Not Hindus, not Buddhist. But Muslims.”

Gabriel says the facts are that Muslim immigrants to the U. S. are responsible for a disproportionally large number of domestic terrorism cases.

“Of all immigrants who have ever immigrated to America since its birth, America never encountered such hatred and terrorism coming out of one faith based group in our country that accounts for less than 2 percent of the American population and is now responsible for over 80 percent of attacks against America,” she said.

“. . . they are rallying to condemn America for what they call unfair policy here and abroad. It is about time the Muslim American community comes out and condemns every imam’s preaching in mosques throughout America who advocates overthrowing our democracy and inciting hatred against infidels and America,” Gabriel said.

“They should be coming out by the millions supporting America and its policy in eradicating Islamic terrorism, supremacy and violence,” Gabriel said.

Somewhere over the Pacific
Nealz Nuze - Neal Boortz – 8/16/2013 -

First – you do know that 0bama really never held a job – pretty much in his entire life – before he decided to enter the political arena.  OK .. there was that six months he spent as some sort of financial analysis in the private sector … so there’s your job history. And don’t give me that nonsense about being a law professor.  He was invited to teach one course at Chicago Law School … something about voting rights and the civil rights movement.  Most high school graduates in this country know more about our Constitution than 0bama did at the time he was supposedly teaching it.

When most politicians decide to make that announcement that they’re going to enter the political fray, they’re very careful to chose a place to make that announcement that will give them the most political bang for their buck.  They will chose a venue that in some way demonstrates or fortifies their own particular political and philosophical personality.

So where did 0bama chose to make his coming-out speech?  He chose the living room of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.  He chose the living room of two convicted anti-American Marxist terrorists.  He chose the living room of someone who actually bombed government sites in Washington DC.  By choosing that location for his announcement he was telling the State of Illinois just what he was and what he believed.  It didn’t matter, though, because the constituency he was romancing felt pretty much the same way about this country that he did.  He even enrolled in a church with a rabidly anti-American pastor to give him the credibility he needed with the voters who’s support he sought.

0bama choosing the living room of a convicted anti-American terrorist to announce his entry into politics would be much the same thing as a white Southern candidate making his announcement at a KKK rally.  0bama, though, got away with it because, as a black candidate, he was pretty much untouchable.

So .. here we are.  We now have a president who has actually admitted that he would be more than happy to honor his oath and promise to “faithfully execute” the laws of the United States .. if only the Republicans would pass the laws he wants and get rid of the ones he doesn’t want.

But … since those evil Republicans won’t cooperate, he’ll just have to go ahead and do what he wants without the participation of the legislative branch.  These are the actions of a despot .. the actions of a tyrant, a thug.  The actions of someone dedicated to the destruction of American capitalism and the imposition of a government mandated and controlled economy in its place.

Tax avenger takes message to small-town WI
Wisconsin Reporter – Ryan Ekvall – 8/21/2013

Please read the entire article because we’re obviously not getting what we’re paying for.

John Granchay, a government retiree and former school board member, confronted Tobin, saying he worked hard for his pension.

EXCUSE ME: John Granchay, a WRS retiree, confronts Tobin on his inflated pension estimates

“I’m still working,” Tobin answered. “I’m going to have to work until I drop to pay your pensions.”

“What did you do for a living that you earned your pension?” Granchay asked.

“I don’t have a pension,” Tobin said. “Don’t you get it? People in the private sector don’t have pensions anymore.”

One state employee brought Tobin’s Shawano-riverfront house property tax records to the meeting to expose what he called the tax-fighter’s “true” motive, an ax-to-grind with the city.

“Our property taxes here went up from $4,000 to $6,700 in one year. The schools went crazy with tax increases.”

Tobin organizes strikes and demonstrations, distributes fliers opposing all referendums to increase property taxes. He takes on politicians and government employees – whom he calls “bloodsuckers” and “special interests,” respectively.

“They don’t like it when we release the salaries. They don’t want folks to know who’s getting the stolen money,” Tobin said. “They expect us to keep working and working and paying and not complaining. They were upset (Monday) night – ‘Oh, you’re complaining, you’re so negative.’ Well, of course I am. (They’re) robbing us blind.”

Inclusion means excluding white males
Townhall – Mike Adams – 8/22/2013

This is a sobering look at today’s society where “diversity” results in exclusion, division, higher taxes and higher tuition rates.  Please click the link above to read Mike Adams five comments about “diversity.”  Every college and university should face the same scrutiny that Mike Adams gives.

Your announcement letter continues, saying "We must not waiver in our commitment to create a diverse and inclusive campus environment. I believe most of us agree there is much more to be achieved in these areas." This is just nonsense,

Gary. What you are saying here is that you think most people agree with you that there should be more spending in the area of "diversity and inclusion."

But you only arrive at such conclusions because people who diverge from your opinion are excluded from your committees, and your circle of influence. That is how bad decisions are made.

You should ask students if they are willing to suffer through more tuition increases to fund further expansion of diversity initiatives and see what they say.

But make sure you don't exclude all white students from the survey like you excluded them from the committee.

Your letter concludes with your assertion that "It is extremely important that this be a fully transparent and inclusive process." Does this mean you will let me attend the first meeting of your new Chancellor's Committee on Diversity and Inclusion? Additionally, will you let me ask tough questions and publish the committee's answers in my weekly column?

America's confusion about what is important and petty begins at the top.

Two Americas – Victor Davis Hanson – 8/22/2013
The historic role of government is changing before our eyes. President Obama is making the argument that the executive branch by presidential fiat can pick and choose which laws should and should not be faithfully executed -- whether Obamacare, immigration amnesties or No Child Left Behind statutes.

The fate of the entire concept of voluntary tax compliance is currently endangered by the politicization of the Internal Revenue Service. Whether the government can monitor the communications of either reporters or average citizens depends on getting to the bottom of the National Security Agency and Justice Department/Associated Press scandals.

Why is the country consumed by the trivial while snoozing through the essential?

We have become a nation of instant electronic communications -- Twitter, Facebook, cell phones and the Internet -- even as reading and math scores plummet in our schools, and newspapers and magazines go broke. We can communicate information at the speed of light but have trouble finding anything meaningful to send back and forth.

America's confusion about what is important and petty begins at the top.

The commander in chief was playing cards while Navy Seals risked their lives to kill America's No. 1 enemy -- only later to use photos of himself watching live feeds for his re-election sloganeering: "bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!"

That pretense sums up the growing void between real and trivial America.

READER COMMENT:  We have done a poor job of passing our values on to our children. My father was a WW2 veteran who served on an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific. He understood what he was fighting for when he enlisted the day after Pearl Harbor. We have allowed the progressives to so rewrite our history that it does not even resemble the history I learned in school. We have allowed the progressives to heap shame on us for being mysogenists, racists, and a host of other ists that we never were concerned about in the past. Some of these things have changed for the better, but for most, the change has been overwhelmingly for the worse. People look for reasons to be offended today. Behavior that constitutes mental illness is daily paraded as normal behavior on reality shows. We have lost any sense of reality and how to distinguish reality from fantasy. We cannot even believe a photograph these days because we have no way of knowing if it has been Photoshopped. When we can no longer trust what we see or hear, there is no basis for making informed decisions about anything. We have the ultimate president for such a time. He is as phony as the Photoshopped pictures he gave us showing him glued to the video feed during the bin Laden raid. Can we then wonder why our children are so obsessed with the Khardasians? It makes me glad I cut the cord on my satellite system two years ago and went back to a TV antenna and a Roku box. I watch only what interests me and leave the trash outside my door.
