Second Amendment does not “give”
us a right to keep and bear arms

The right existed before the
Bill of Rights was drafted and passed.
“A well regulated militia,
being necessary to the security of a free
state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms,
shall not be infringed.”
Wikipedia gets it right:
“The Second Amendment (Amendment
II) to the United States Constitution protects the right of individuals to keep
and bear arms.”
