Ryan’s argument unfolds in seven steps:

1. Define and reclaim the mantle of the American Dream. “We are here in partnership on behalf of an idea—that no matter who your parents are, no matter where you come from, you should have the opportunity in America to rise, to escape from poverty, and to achieve whatever your God-given talents and hard work enable you to achieve.”
2. Recognize the obstacles that many face. “Too many children, especially African-American and Hispanic children, are sent into mediocre schools and expected to perform with excellence.… There is something wrong in our country when 40 percent of children born to parents in the lowest fifth of earners never know anything better.… In this war on poverty, poverty is winning.”
3. Big government doesn’t help the poor. “With a few exceptions, government’s approach has been to spend lots of money on centralized, bureaucratic, top-down anti-poverty programs. The mindset behind this approach is that a nation should measure compassion by the size of the federal government and how much it spends. The problem is, starting in the 1960s, this top-down approach created and perpetuated a debilitating culture of dependency, wrecking families and communities.”
4. Conservatism isn’t a code word for selfishness. “Well, to hear some tell it, we think everybody should just fend for themselves. But that’s just a false argument—a straw man set up to avoid genuine debate.… I believe in true compassion and upward mobility.”
5. A strong economy helps the poor. “Many of those living in poverty today were in the middle class just a few years ago. We can help them regain the ground they’ve lost, with a focus on growth all across the American economy.”
6. Civil society is the great alternative to big government. “Part of what makes America great is that when we don’t succeed, we look out for one another through our communities.… There’s a vast middle ground between the government and the individual. Our families and our neighborhoods, the groups we join and our places of worship—this is where we live our lives. They shape our character, give our lives direction, and help make us a self-governing people.”
7. And of course we believe in a strong safety net. “Where government is entrusted with providing a safety net, Mitt Romney and I have our own vision for how to keep it strong. It is a vision that leaves the failures of the past in the past, and proposes instead to build on those reforms that have worked.”

THE TRUST FUND’S DEFICIT

Here is the assessment by the Trustees in their 2012 Annual Report. They tell us that the program is producing a deficit.

In 2011, Social Security’s cost continued to exceed both the program’s tax income and its non-interest income, a trend that the Trustees project to continue throughout the short-range period and beyond. The 2011 deficit of tax income relative to cost was $148 billion, and the projected 2012 deficit is $165 billion. The sizes of these deficits are largely due to a temporary reduction in the Social Security payroll tax for 2011 and 2012.

The legislation establishing the payroll tax reduction also provided for transfers from the General Fund of the Treasury to the trust funds to “replicate to the extent possible” revenues that would have occurred in the absence of the payroll tax reduction. Including these general revenue reimbursements, the 2011 deficit of non-interest income relative to cost was $45 billion, and the projected 2012 deficit is $53 billion (page 2).

Where did the money come from to offset the deficit? The Trustees were quite clear: “transfers from the General Fund of the Treasury to the trust funds.”

Earlier today, Denver local reporter Kyle Clarke of KUSA-TV did what the national media largely refuses to do, asking Obama directly whether the Americans in Benghazi were denied requests for aid. Obama dodged the question, but implied that he had known about the attacks as they were "happening."

Emails released earlier this week indicated that the White House had been informed almost immediately that a terror group had taken responsibility for the attack in Benghazi, and Fox News reported this morning that the two former Navy SEALs, Ty Woods and Glen Doherty, had been refused in requests for assistance they had made from the CIA annex.

Jake Tapper quoted Petraeus this afternoon denying that the CIA was responsible for the refusal: "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate."

But in President Obama’s apparently “newfound” support of gay marriage, he did make it clear that it was a matter for individual states, and not the federal government. How very generous of him; he suddenly rediscovered the Constitutional rights of states. And how courageous of him; to make a symbolic statement yet make it clear he could and would do nothing.

 

Gay marriage is not a matter of freedom, or rights. It is a moral question. Sadly some Americans have forgotten that the sole reason for this institution, in principle, was the social regulation for the obligations associated with procreation. This is not to suggest that those marriages of man and woman incidentally unable to conceive due to age or infertility are irrelevant; in principle definition, they are included. But a marriage of two of the same sex is, in principle, impossible, redefining the institution to the point of removing the need.

Yes, that’s right. To permit the marriage of the homosexual removes the very need of the institution of marriage. Not to mention such an act is contrary to the moral character of the American nation or a commitment to God’s best.

 

In the event of a Romney win, I suspect we will never quite know the impact of this issue in securing victory. But if he doesn’t get across the line, it may be seen as a missed opportunity to mobilize and energize the base and many who didn’t intend on voting, by appealing to the visceral, not just the hip pocket.

 

America, you deserve a President that believes in the traditional family, and recognizes that the institution of the family is the bedrock of society.

His reply – and these were his words, not mine – was short and to the point: “Because I refuse to be that stupid twice.”

Changing one’s mind doesn’t always reveal a tendency toward indecision. Sometimes, changing one’s mind reveals a tendency toward wisdom.

The truth of the matter is this, my friend; Barack Hussein Obama is no friend of the working man. He's a friend of the politically connected, left-wing activist. We don't live during the Industrial Revolution anymore when there were stark differences between management and labor. We live in an interconnected, global economy with very strong competition from countries that 50 years ago were disorganized and deeply impoverished. In order for the US economy to grow, we can no longer rely on the policies of 100 years ago that pitted manager vs. worker, and divided us in order to conquer us by economic classes. We must work together, offering the most productivity and innovation that each of us possesses in order to remain the light of the world. That light has been dimmed the last 4 years, and we can scarcely afford another. That's why I'm voting for Romney.

Although both the Romney and Obama campaigns showed fraud, GAI found the Obama campaign had a much higher amount.

-During calendar year 2012, the Obama campaign received at least $2,983,854.78 from donors who did not submit a zip code, or submitted one that do not exist.

-During calendar year 2012, the Romney campaign received at least $244,287.01 from donors who did not submit a zip code, or submitted one that do not exist.

Based on findings in GAI's first report and the findings here, it is clear the Obama campaign has major problems with donation security and potential fraud. Because of this, GAI recommends the following:

The Government Accountability Institute has called for campaigns to release the names of all campaign contributions, require donors to enter their credit card security code (CVV), and utilize a robust AVS to maintain the integrity of U.S. federal elections.

THE HIJACKING OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Here is an excellent quote often popularly attributed to Norman Thomas and sometimes attributed to Ronald Reagan:  (The so-called "truth" website, snopes.com, questions the authorship assertion while totally ignoring the factual reality of the quote.)

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

By 1948, Norman Thomas, six-time U.S. presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America and Gus Hall, four-time U.S. presidential candidate for the U.S. Communist Party both quit American politics, agreeing that the Republican and Democratic parties had adopted every plank on the Communist/Socialist platform and they no longer had an alternate party platform on which to run.

Frank Marshall Davis, Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member 47544 and mentor to a young Barack Obama joined the Communist Party during World War II and was unflinchingly pro-Soviet and pro-Red China. He was the founding editor-in-chief of the Chicago Star (1946-48) -- the CPUSA publication for Chicago -- before moving on to the Honolulu Record (1949-57), the CPUSA publication there. Davis lavishly praised Joseph Stalin and vilified the Democratic Party which was opposed to the Soviet Union. Frank Marshall Davis's politics were so radical, and so pro-Soviet, that the Democrats who ran the Senate in 1956 summoned him to Washington to testify on his pro-Soviet activities. The FBI placed him on the federal government's Security Index, meaning that if a war broke out between the United States and the Soviet Union, Obama's mentor could have been placed under immediate arrest.

But after years of trashing the Democratic Party, Davis decided to join the Democratic Party. After finally realizing that he could never be elected on the Communist Party ticket, Davis took the lesser of the available "evils" and glommed onto the most left-leaning party, the Democrats.

Thus the Hawaiian Communist Party went underground, realizing that it lacked political viability. Hawaii's communists changed their tactics, concentrating instead on the mainstream Democratic Party, even running their members in local elections to seize delegate positions. One of those who not only urged this tactic, but was himself elected to a Democratic precinct was Frank Marshall Davis.

With that, the gradual hijacking of the Democratic Party was on. This began a long march to transform the Democratic Party from the party of Truman and JFK to the party of Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. And Frank Marshall Davis, as a "Democrat," would go on to influence today's Democratic Party standard-bearer: Barack Obama.

Unfortunately Obama has totally contradicted and reversed the meaning of JFK's immortal words:

"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

In contrast, Obama says to Americans:

“Demand that your government gives you free housing, free food, free transportation, free education, and freedom from having to work for life.”

I am proud to admit that I voted as a Democrat for JFK in 1960, but I am now horribly frightened by the fact that the Democratic Party of 1960 has ceased to exist; however millions of Obama closed minded sycophants will still vote for anything falsely labeled “Democrat.”

Now 52 years later we find that for the first time in our nation’s history, this election will decide whether the United States will continue to exist for our children and grandchildren.

November 6^th may be our last chance!

Has Barak Obama earned our support for re-election? 

In 2008 he promised that if we elected him, his presidency would salve the wounds of racial division that have plagued our nation since reconstruction.   Four years later not only is the racial divide greater than at any time in recent history, but  it has been augmented by a gender gap and class warfare all actively encouraged by an administration that was supposed to unite us.  

Candidate Obama promised a transparent administration, but during deliberations on his signature legislation, healthcare reform, Republicans were literally locked out of participation in the negotiations.   And to add to the new “openness,” the candidate also promised that all bills would be posted on the internet for at least five days prior to his signing them into law as President.  Not one bill has so appeared and even Democrat legislators who voted for the new Affordable Care Act have admitted to not having read it before voting for it.  

Mr. Obama promised in 2008 that if the economic stimulus package were passed, he would be able to keep unemployment below 8% by pouring money into infrastructure where there were thousands of “shovel ready jobs.”  The unemployment rate has held at 8.3 percent until Sept. of this year and even then dropped to only 7.8%.  In the end, even Pres. Obama openly admitted that the jobs were not as “shovel ready” as he had imagined.

As President, Mr. Obama promised that the 2010 Census would be completely independent, but when 2010 rolled around, he hired Acorn to conduct it, a company that had been indicted in fourteen states for voter fraud and other illegal activities.

Instead of defending the Constitution, Pres. Obama has a remarkable track record of trying to circumvent it.  When “Cap & Trade” was voted down in the Senate, he ordered the EPA to issue a ruling enacting it.  When the administration’s plans to regulate the internet were rejected in both houses of Congress and the courts, Pres. Obama ordered the FCC simply to reclassify it.  When the Debt Commission was rejected by the Senate, Pres. Obama merely issued an executive order creating it.  And, finally, when both the House and Senate passed legislation lifting the prohibition on drilling in the Gulf, the administration re-imposed it by another executive order.   

What makes this election the most important in our lifetime is the fact that in past elections we could say, at most, that we were at a “fork” in the road.  Democrats and Republicans were not terribly far apart; both basically supported free market capitalism and the Constitution.  But today we are at a “T” section:  a vote for Pres. Obama and the Democrats means a continuation of the social radicalization of our society and an economy directed by an all-powerful central authority.  A vote for Romney/Ryan and the Republicans means a return to minimal government interference in our free market economy and a tax system that encourages broader participation and individual freedom. 

Vote for freedom!  Elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan!

Contrast in platforms on social issues

The Democratic platform states: “The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion [note: the Democrats no longer say "rare"], regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.”

The Republican platform is very different: “We assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortions or fund organizations which perform or advocate it and will not fund or subsidize health care which includes abortion coverage.”

For the first time, the Democrats’ platform strongly supports same-sex marriage. It states: “We support marriage equality and support the movement to secure equal treatment under law for same-sex couples.”
The Republican platform, on the other hand, states: “Congressional Republicans took the lead in enacting the Defense of Marriage Act, affirming the right of States and the federal government not to recognize same-sex relationships licensed in other jurisdictions. We reaffirm our support for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.”

 

Amazing Vote at Democratic convention – God was intentionally omitted from the DNC platform, then erroneously put back in

When the Democratic Party Platform came to the Convention floor for approval, it omitted the name of God (which had been in previous Democratic Party Platforms). A motion was made on the Convention floor to put God back into the Platform, a motion that required a two-thirds majority to pass. The chair called for a voice vote, and the Ayes and Nays sounded equal. The chairman looked baffled and called for a second vote. Again the Ayes and Nays sounded equal. Looking flustered, the chairman called for a third vote which again sounded equally divided, or even a bigger and louder No vote. The chairman then read a pre-scripted ruling from the teleprompter, which was obviously false. He ruled that the motion received a two-thirds affirmative vote and was adopted, and rapidly moved on to other Convention business. It’s important for all Americans to know that at least half of the Democratic National Convention delegates thus voted to ban “God” from their Party platform.

 

Obama sabotages welfare reform

Before 1996, there was nothing temporary about welfare. It was a permanent subsidy for a lifestyle that subsidized illegitimacy and avoidance of responsibility for individual behavior. Contrary to claims of those who opposed the new system, the dramatic success of the Republican welfare reform was due not to giving more flexibility to state governments, but was due to putting tough restrictions on spending the money by the states. In gutting the Republican welfare reform, Obama ignored the fact that the work requirement written into the TANF law is “mandatory.” He just went ahead and issued a waiver anyway, claiming it is OK under Section 1115 of the Social Security Act. However, the TANF law states that waivers cannot be issued unless they are specifically listed in Section 1115. Welfare’s “work” requirement is not listed. Our nearly trillion-dollar-a-year 70-plus programs of cash and benefits handouts to people living below a designated poverty line are a fiscal issue caused largely by the social issues of marriage-absence and illegitimacy. Yet President Obama unilaterally and illegally increased this spending by gutting the work requirement for welfare recipients, which is our only real hope of reducing the fiscal cost.

Obama’s goal is to “spread the wealth” to produce more dependency on government.

Democrats have no plan to create jobs

The current unemployment figure is 8.1%. And 40.7% of those have been out of work for 27 weeks or more. Those numbers tell only a small part of Obama’s failure to deliver on his promises. The real unemployment figure is closer to 19% because the official count doesn’t include (a) the 8 million unemployed who have given up and stopped looking for a job, and (b) the people who have had to settle for part-time work, and (c) those who had to take lower-paid jobs well below their qualifications, and (d) the 11 million who are out of the workforce collecting Social Security disability checks. The plight of young Americans is even worse. For 18- to 29-year-olds, the unemployment rate is 12.7%. most recent college graduates cannot get jobs that require a college degree or justify the enormous debt they incur in order to attend college.

 

Social issues cost a lot of tax money

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, entitlement payments in 1960 amounted to $24 billion (in current dollars), but by 2010 had climbed to $2.2 trillion in money, goods and services. In 1960, entitlement payments were well below a third of federal government expenditures, about the same proportion as in 1940. But now, entitlements amount to two-thirds of federal spending, with all other government functions reduced to one-third. These handouts are financed by borrowing from Communist China, leaving a colossal debt to hang around the necks of our children and grandchildren.

Bad facts about Obama’s prospects

Our future of constitutional government will be endangered if Obama has the opportunity to name the next two Supreme Court justices. He says prime qualifications for his judicial nominees will be (not devotion to the Constitution as written but) support for abortion rights and “empathy.”

On Thursday, NRL News Today wrote about an egregiously dishonest ad run by the Obama campaign that carefully parsed an answer given by Mitt Romney to suggest that Gov. Romney would ban all abortions. That is transparently not true.
This is not the first time Obama’s re-election team has distorted Romney’s position, nor will it be the last.

The Obama campaign is out with another ad making the false claim that Mitt Romney ‘backed a bill that outlaws all abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.’ Romney’s consistent position through this campaign, and the last, and as far back as 2005, is that he opposes abortion except in cases when the life of the mother is in danger, and in cases of rape and incest. …The Obama campaign is a repeat offender with this distortion of Romney’s position on abortion.”

Mitt Romney’s position on abortion has been consistent throughout both his 2008 and his 2012 campaign and he has not changed that position. He believes Roe vs. Wade should be overturned and he believes abortion should only be allowed in cases to save the life of the mother and in cases of rape and incest. He is running a television ad to that effect in part to counter the media’s earlier attempt, beginning with the Republican convention, to distort his position and imply that he would seek to ban abortion in cases of rape or incest or perhaps in all cases, including life of mother cases.

Obama’s own position and record which includes:
1) voting against a bill in Illinois that would have protected babies born alive during an abortion,
2) co-sponsoring a bill that would have made partial birth abortion legal again, and
3) opposing a bill to ban sex-selection abortion–not to mention the abortion promoting elements of Obamacare.
