The fundamental act of our Founding, the Declaration of Independence, recognizes the Creator God as the Source of Rights;1 and acknowledges that the purpose of civil government is simply to “secure” the Rights God gave us. The Constitution we subsequently ratified was based on God’s model of civil government as set forth in the Bible.

That is why our Country was so much better than what the rest of the World has been. For the most part, we followed God’s model for civil government; other countries didn’t.

The blessing which flows from God’s model is limited civil government which is under The Law. That is why our Liberty Bell quotes Lev. 25:10 – “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof.”

1. The Civil Authorities are under the Law.

The Bible: God is The Lawmaker – the kings are to apply God’s Law.

2. Civil Government has only limited and defined Powers:

The Bible: When you read through the Old Testament, you see that civil government is limited to:

Military matters

Enforcement of only a few of God’s Laws – the laws to which a penalty for violation is attached (laws against murder, theft, bearing false witness, negligence, etc.).

Judges are available to decide disputes between the people

3. Civil Government is divided into Three Parts:

The Bible: Isaiah 33:22 says The Lord is our “judge”, “lawgiver”, and “king”!

The parallel in our Constitution is that the federal government is divided into three branches: Judicial, legislative, and executive.

4. The Civil Authorities promise to obey the Higher Law.

The Bible: The king promises to obey God’s Laws and to apply God’s Laws in the kingdom; and the people pledge themselves to this promise:

5. When the Civil Authorities violate the Higher Law, We must Rebuke them!

The Bible: The prophets rebuke the kings when they forsake God’s Law:

6. The Peoples’ Obligation to obey the Civil Authorities is conditional upon the Civil Authorities obeying the Higher Law.

The Bible: As shown by the Scripture at Principle 4, civil government is a covenant between God, the king, and the People. God makes the Laws; the king promises to obey and apply those Laws; and the people pledge themselves to the Covenant.

What can We do?

Hamilton tells you to LEARN the Constitution; demand that federal and State officials obey it; and don’t go along with them when they violate it!

READ our Declaration of Independence and Constitution until you become familiar with them. Stick to original sources (e.g., The Federalist Papers) and beware of the ignorant know-it-alls with their crazy theories.

REBUKE officials and judges who violate the Constitution! Specify the violation. Usually, the violation is that what they did is not an enumerated power.

ELECT State & County officials who will nullify unconstitutional acts of Congress, executive orders, & judicial opinions. Here are Model Nullification Resolutions for State Legislatures.

TALK to your pastor, priest or rabbi – we all share the Old Testament. We must dust off our copies and read them; renounce escapism & defeat; renounce the unbiblical doctrine of socialism (listen to Fr. Andrew!); renounce the unbiblical doctrine of divine right of kings – the false doctrine that God granted autonomy to the civil authorities; declare independence from the federal government and throw off the chains of the 501 (c) (3) tax exemption! Thanks to the relentless, presumptuous quest of homosexuals to shape the moral views of other people’s children, this Boy Scout kerfuffle is not over. Despite specious claims to the contrary, this battle is not about “equality” or “fairness.” It’s about the desperate desire of homosexuals to eradicate conservative moral beliefs and every last vestige of moral disapproval from the global moral landscape. The proper response to this obnoxious pressure from homosexual activists and corporations—neither of which group is noted for their commitment to God or sexual rectitude—would be for the BSA leadership to honor God and act bravely by publicly affirming that there are objective moral truths from which our sexual lives are not exempt.

When considering the potential for harm to children, set aside for a moment the issue of homosexuals who may prey on the boys under their charge. There is another harm that will be done to all boys whose leaders are homosexual. Those boys will be taught by example the deceit that homosexual acts and relationships are moral. It is unconscionable that an organization committed to God and moral integrity would countenance such destructive role modeling.

President Obama and his cohorts did a shameful thing last week that, if continued, I believe will be a total disaster to our Army and Marine Corps infantry units and special operations units. Sentry, the author of the below article is a very wise lady who explains very well, the limitations of women and the adverse effects they would have in a ground battle against an enemy army of men.

There are many other military duties that women can do very well, like crew aircraft. Women were not in the cockpit during my Air Force career, but I have met quite a number of present day lady fighter pilots whose male counterparts have told me could be aces.

With the mechanical and hydraulic controls that modern fighters have, muscle strength is not a problem, so they can excel as well as their male counterparts if they have the necessary skills. Many others changes that the now president has made will also prove detrimental, but none with so much potential to be totally disastrous to the morale and efficiency of our armed force as females engaging in hand to hand mortal combat.---

"I’m a female veteran. I deployed to Anbar Province, Iraq. When I was active duty, I was 5’6, 130 pounds, and scored nearly perfect on my PFTs. I naturally have a lot more upper body strength than the average woman: not only can I do pull-ups, I can meet the male standard. I would love to have been in the infantry. And I still think it will be an unmitigated disaster to incorporate women into combat roles. I am not interested in risking men’s lives so I can live my selfish dream.

We’re not just talking about watering down the standards to include the politically correct number of women into the unit. This isn’t an issue of “if a woman can meet the male standard, she should be able to go into combat.” The number of women that can meet the male standard will be miniscule–I’d have a decent shot according to my PFTs, but dragging a 190-pound man in full gear for 100 yards would DESTROY me–and that miniscule number that can physically make the grade AND has the desire to go into combat will be facing an impossible situation that will ruin the combat effectiveness of the unit.

First, the close quarters of combat units make for a complete lack of privacy and EVERYTHING is exposed, to include intimate details of bodily functions.

Second, until we succeed in completely reprogramming every man in the military to treat women just like men, those men are going to protect a woman at the expense of the mission.
Third, women have physical limitations that no amount of training or conditioning can overcome.
Fourth, until the media in this country is ready to treat a captured/raped/tortured/mutilated female soldier just like a man, women will be targeted by the enemy without fail and without mercy.

I saw the male combat units when I was in Iraq. They go outside the wire for days at a time. They eat, sleep, urinate and defecate in front of each other and often while on the move. There’s no potty break on the side of the road outside the wire. They urinate into bottles and defecate into MRE bags. I would like to hear a suggestion as to how a woman is going to urinate successfully into a bottle while cramped into a humvee wearing full body armor. And she gets to accomplish this feat with the male members of her combat unit twenty inches away. Volunteers to do that job? Do the men really want to see it? Should they be forced to?
Everyone wants to point to the IDF as a model for gender integration in the military. No, the IDF does not put women on the front lines. They ran into the same wall the US is about to smack into: very few women can meet the standards required to serve there.

The few integrated units in the IDF suffered three times the casualties of the all-male units because the Israeli men, just like almost every other group of men on the planet, try to protect the women even at the expense of the mission. Political correctness doesn’t trump thousands of years of evolution and societal norms. Do we really WANT to deprogram that instinct from men?
. . . women tend to be shorter than men.

Men, with more muscular legs and bones that carry more muscle mass than any woman can condition herself to carry, can jump higher and farther than women.
When you’re going over a wall in Baghdad that’s ten feet high, you have to be able to be able to reach the top of it in full gear and haul yourself over. That’s not strength per se, that’s just height and the muscular explosive power to jump and reach the top. Having to get a boost from one of the men so you can get up and over could get that man killed.

That muscle mass is also a shock absorber. . . .  a woman is more likely to go down because she can’t absorb the concussion as well as a man can. . . . in hand-to-hand combat the average man is going to destroy the average woman because the average woman is smaller, period. Muscle equals force in any kind of strike you care to perform.

Lastly, this country and our military are NOT prepared to see what the enemy will do to female POWs. The Taliban, AQ, insurgents, jihadis, whatever you want to call them, they don’t abide by the Geneva Conventions and treat women worse than livestock.

Google THOMAS TUCKER and KRISTIAN MENCHACA if you want to see what they do to our men (and don’t google it unless you have a strong stomach) and then imagine a woman in their hands.

ONE Thomasina Tucker is going to mean the men in the military will move heaven and earth to protect women, never mind what it does to the mission.
I present you with Exhibit A: Jessica Lynch. Male lives will be lost trying to protect their female comrades.

I say again, I would have loved to be in the infantry. I think I could have done it physically, I could’ve met almost all the male standards (jumping aside), and I think I’m mentally tough enough to handle whatever came.

BUT I WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO THE MEN. I WOULD NEVER SACRIFICE THE MISSION FOR MY OWN DESIRES. AND I WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO LIVE WITH MYSELF IF SOMEONE DIED BECAUSE OF ME.

The Congressional Budget Office released a report that says that the budget deficit will grow through 2023 and “will eventually require the government to raise taxes, reduce benefits and services, or undertake some combination of those two actions,” reports CBSNews- and all of that just to cover interest payments.

“In its annual Budget and Economic Outlook,” writes CBSNews, “the CBO said debt held by the public will be bigger by 2023 than in any year since 1951 and will be at 77 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2023, far above the 40-year average of 39 percent of GDP. As a result, the CBO report said, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S INTEREST COSTS ‘WILL BE VERY HIGH’ AND WILL BE RISING. INTEREST COSTS WILL MORE THAN DOUBLE BY THE END OF THE TEN-YEAR FORECASTING PERIOD.”

In December, the Treasury Department reported that total interest bearing debt owed by the government carried an interest rate of 2.523 percent. Last year’s interest payments on that debt totaled $360 billion. If interest rates overall reflect the CBO’s forecast for the benchmark, interest rates payments alone will reach one trillion dollars by 2017.

JUST CURRENT DEBT WOULD REQUIRE INTEREST PAYMENTS OF 2.5 TIMES 2012 LEVELS OR $890 BILLION. YOU CAN ADD ANOTHER $100 BILLION IN INTEREST COSTS FOR DEFICITS ACCUMULATED BETWEEN 2013 AND 2017.

If interest rates cooperate, interest on the national debt will be the third largest line item in the budget by 2017, after pensions and healthcare, topping defense spending, education, welfare and likely even Obama’s vacation budget.

Recently, a federal court sided with the American Petroleum Institute (API) and ordered the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to lower its biofuel volume target. Quite simply, as posed by API, the EPA exceeded their authority and ignored logic to foist a phantom “alternate fuel” onto the American people.

The US uses about 100 quadrillion British Thermal Units of energy per year.  If all those BTUs were a pile of blocks or Legos, they would cover Manhattan Island (12.5 x 2.5 miles), to a depth of 161 feet. World energy demand would be a pile 600 feet high.

Oil would be 65 feet

Natural gas and coal 36 feet each

(They add to 137 feet, or 85% of the US total.)

Nuclear energy would add 13 feet (with no certainty of more) and hydroelectric, 4 feet (but some dams are being removed).

Those energy sources bring the pile to 154 feet, or 93% of the total.

“Green” sources are the remaining 7%.

Biomass would add 5 feet, of which cellulosic ethanol (subject of the EPA mandate/court case), comprises less than the thickness of two sheets of paper.

In 2012, EPA ordered the use of 10.45 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol in gasoline, despite the fact that the fuel is little more than a lab experiment at this time. Production for the year was 22,069 gallons, less 2/10 of 1% “required” volume, or 8 drops per car per year, at a cost of $400 million!

So EPA, which wants to drive coal-fired electric generating plants out of business through one regulation, is forcing US refiners and drivers to pay for a non-existent transportation fuel through another one.

According to its own analysis, NARAL says 15 states already have abortion bans that remain on the books and would be able to be enforced immediate after Roe is overturned, protecting women and unborn children in:  AL, AZ, AR, CO, DE, LA, MA, MI, MS, NM, OK, UT, VT, WV, and WI.

Another four states have trigger laws that ban abortion immediate after the Supreme Court reverses Roe, and they include LA, MS, ND, and SD. With Louisiana and Mississippi in both groups, some 17 states would essentially ban abortions.

NARAL is also concerned because another 15 states are ones it cites has having state legislatures that are sufficiently pro-life to pass an abortion ban through the legislature once Roe is reversed. They include AL, AZ, GA, ID, LA, MI, MS, NE, ND, OH, OK, SD, TX, UT, and WI. Five of those states, GA, ID, NE, OH, and TX, do not currently have abortion bans or triggers in place — making it so NARAL ultimately believes 22 states could see abortion banned if Roe is overturned.

The resolution, passed Monday, "calls on the United States Congress and the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Virginia to adopt legislation prohibiting information obtained from the domestic use of drones from being introduced into a Federal or State court," and "pledges to abstain from similar uses with city-owned, leased, or borrowed drones."

The resolution passed by a 3-2 vote and was brought to the city council by activist David Swanson and the Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties group based in the city. The measure also endorses a proposed two-year moratorium on drones in Virginia.

Councilmember Dede Smith, who voted in favor of the bill, says that drones are "pretty clearly a threat to our constitutional right to privacy."

"If we don't get out ahead of it to establish some guidelines for how drones are used, they will be used in a very invasive way and we'll be left to try and pick up the pieces," she says.

"Lawmakers should be looking at [drone privacy] issues now in order to ensure that there are safeguards in place to protect individual privacy from these invasive technologies," she says.

With a lot of these resolutions, although they don't have a lot of teeth to them, they can inspire other governments to pass similar measures," she says. "You can get a critical mass and then it does have influence. One doesn't do much, but a thousand of them might. We want this on [federal and state lawmakers'] radars."

It’s now nearly a decade since his graduation. His debt, with interest compounded upon interest, is $142,000 at a 17-percent interest rate. He can’t get out:

I get my groceries at the local food bank. I have sold or lost 99 percent of everything I ever owned.

He can’t get work because his bad credit turns off prospective employers. He lives in an aged minivan, relies on the Salvation Army for meals, and parks his van at highway truck stops. For all intents and purposes, he is homeless.

Solutions abound, at least in theory. The government should get out of the student loan business altogether and let the private market take over. And Congress should allow students to declare bankruptcy over their loans when necessary. Even there, however, the consequences are towering. There is more than $1 trillion in student loan debt. Almost 15 percent of loans are already in default. The Department of Education would have to receive special funding from Congress — the taxpayer — to be able to write off the bad loans that would result.

The costs of college education would rise to more normal, market-driven levels, keeping some qualified students away. Colleges and universities would have to make massive, perhaps draconian, cuts in their overhead. It would take years for some semblance of balance between supply and demand to return to the education industry. And changing the laws would have precious little immediate impact on people such as Keith.

Restoring freedom through private markets, however, is worth the effort despite the pain. The alternative — a continuing debtors’ prison for students and a continuing of the corrupt educational cartel and its incestuous relationship with politicians — is unthinkable.

Last weekend, National Review magazine sponsored a “conservative summit” in Washington.

Prior to speaking at that event, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal addressed the Republican National Committee’s annual winter meeting in Charlotte, N.C., where he proposed a new strategy for Republicans and conservatives that begins not in Washington but at the state level.

Jindal said the Republican Party loses when it plays on the liberal Democrats’ turf, allowing them to set the agenda.

Here are three Jindalisms the public can understand:

• Government spending still does not grow our economy.
• American weakness on the world stage still does not lead to peace.
• Higher taxes still do not create prosperity for all.”

Poverty should not be the final verdict on any life. Republicans need to have “testimony time” during which people once addicted to government tell how they broke free and are now earning a paycheck because they embraced conservative principles. Republicans should be seen as friends of the poor.

Republicans should back a growing movement to pull children out of underperforming public schools where often their views, values, understanding of history and even faith are undermined. Home-schooling is an option.

The public school system, seemingly a “hot house” for growing new generations of secular liberals, is a failure on many levels.  Private school is also an option.

Gov. Jindal stated his vision in Charlotte: “FREE INDIVIDUALS, TAKING RISKS, BUILDING BUSINESSES, INVENTING THINGS FROM THIN AIR, AND PASSING IMMUTABLE VALUES FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT ... THAT IS THE ROOT OF AMERICA’S GREATNESS.”

The financial world was shocked this month by a demand from Germany's Bundesbank to repatriate a large portion of its gold reserves held abroad. By 2020, Germany wants 50% of its total gold reserves back in Frankfurt - including 300 tons from the Federal Reserve. The Bundesbank's announcement comes just three months after the Fed refused to submit to an audit of its holdings on Germany's behalf. One cannot help but wonder if the refusal triggered the demand.

The popular explanation is that the Fed has already rehypothecated all of its gold holdings in the name of other countries. That is, the same mound of bullion is earmarked as collateral for a host of different lenders. Since the Fed depends on a fractional-reserve banking system for its very existence, it would not come as a surprise that it has become a fractional-reserve bank itself. If so, then perhaps Germany politely asked for a seven-year timeline in order to allow the Fed to save face, and to prevent other depositors from clamoring for their own gold back - a 'run' on the Fed.

Now, the Fed can always print more dollars and buy gold on the open market to make up for any shortfall, but such a move could substantially increase the price of gold. The last thing the Fed needs is another gold price spike reminding the world of the dollar's decline.

US investors should be as shocked as the Bundesbank about the Fed's deception. While we cannot redeem our dollars for gold with the Fed, we can still buy gold with them in the open market. As more investors and governments choose to save in precious metals, the dollar's value will go into steeper and steeper decline - thereby driving more investors into metals. That's when the virtuous circle upon which the dollar has coasted for a generation will quickly turn vicious.

Male monopoly of the military professions is founded on several realities however blind to such we might have become in our era of political correctness.

Reality No. 1: War requires strength, even in the high-tech, push-button age. Men really are physically stronger than women. Generally this means they fight -- and kill -- better.

Reality No. 2: Women, not men, bear children -- a task central to the survival of civilization, not to say the human race. There's no taint or shame in the historic division of sexual labor -- women working to preserve and maintain and build and grow, men also deputed to build and grow but specializing when necessary in the job of destruction. If that's not how we're constituted, how come nobody ever noticed before?

Reality No. 3: A fundamental male instinct is to protect women at all costs, to keep them out of harm's way when possible, when not to take a bullet for them. The instinct is embedded in human nature as revealed by the testimony of centuries. No honorable, generous, decent civilization would want to remove such an instinct even if it understood the surgical means.

Reality No. 4: We don't maintain a military for "workplace opportunity" purposes. We maintain it to defend the country. Social goals take a backseat to the goal of walloping our enemies, through the deployment of those most qualified to wallop them.

On the issue of school choice free market messaging has been exceedingly potent. The winning message is first, every child deserves the very best education possible, meaning we should allow a child's family choice when it comes to which school they will attend regardless of economic standing, ethnicity, or zip code. Second, innovation and reform to make our children’s' education better should be celebrated rather than shuttered. This simple message overwhelmingly resonates across party lines, across demographic groups and emotionally reverberates throughout our country, because it eloquently expresses a basic notion of fairness that seeks to protect those who are our most precious asset - our children.

One of the most successful state programs is in Louisiana. According to Educate Now, 84 percent of New Orleans public school students are now in charter schools. These charter schools overwhelming help poor, minority, and low-performing students succeed where traditional public schools have failed.

Government employee union lobbies fight this change every step of the way. Just last year the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), which has at least a 39 percent drop-out rate and only 6 of 100 CTU students earn a bachelor’s degree, demanded additional perks for teachers at failing schools. This organization is so out-of-touch, their teachers were focused on haggling about the percentage of pay increases while vast numbers of their students drop out of utterly failing public schools. Such tone deafness is particularly inappropriate with some 12 million Americans looking for work

Our founders knew that more government regulation and taking away guns from law-abiding citizens would not curb violent crime. And they didn't expect the law of the land to well up peace in people's hearts, either. As proud as they were of their new-found republic, they would rely instead upon personal core values to perpetuate decency, respect, morality, honesty and restraint, to name a few.

Our founders' "human values curriculum," if you will, consisted of two primary principles: 1) Human life has an intrinsic or inherent value esteemed far above the rest of creation. 2) Human life is to be respected and cared for via each person's accountability to moral absolutes (that is, a moral creed to which he confesses and clings). I will discuss the first point today and the second next week.

Most people's view and value of humanity were shaped around two beliefs: that God created us and that we were created equal.

We've abandoned the past. We've left its core values. We've lost our way. We've traded in the Good Book for our pocketbook. We've completely redefined human life and its value, and the way we treat one another proves it.

The law of the jungle is what guides most today. Value, honor and respect are out the door. Belittling and bullying are the king and queen of the playground and the blogosphere. Gangs kill for sport. And violent crime is the soul of digital gaming.

And we blame assault rifles for the proliferation of violent crime?

We must question with boldness and ask ourselves: What are we and others teaching our children and grandchildren about their intrinsic worth and value? And are we treating them according to their high appraisal and calling them to treat others with the same value?

It is the dogma of our time that proponents of government safety net programs hold the moral high ground. Accordingly, Democrats preen over their own “compassion”; and Republicans chime in that they too “believe in safety net programs”.

But safety net programs are unconstitutional and immoral. They are unconstitutional because “charity” is not one of the enumerated powers of the federal government.1

They are immoral because they are based on a fabricated system of man-made anti-rights which negate the Rights God gave us.

Political Power is FROM The People!

Our Constitution was based on the radical Principle that The People are the original source of political power.  The federal government We created was subject to us.

The only proper function of civil governments is to secure the Rights God gave us.

God given rights: They don’t put us in conflict with each other. When all civil governments do is secure our God given rights – protect us from foreign invaders and domestic criminals and tortfeasers – the People can live together in peace.

So THIS is the gift our Framers gave us in 1787 when they drafted our Constitution. But for the last 100 years, we have been letting this gift slip thru our fingers.

We were seduced into believing that civil government should provide for our needs; and protect us from the risks and uncertainties of Life.

But these beliefs are Evil and Destructive. They destroy Countries and individual Human Souls.

A Government which Provides to Some, must Take from Others

HOW do governments provide for our needs?   They take money from some people by force and give it to other people!

The welfare state isn’t based on “compassion”. The welfare state is based on Envy, Coercion & Theft.   THIS is what has set us at each other’s throats: The misuse of governments to rob some of the People for the benefit of favored groups – the public and private sector unions, businesses owned by Obama fundraisers, and welfare parasites.

Senior citizens were once a favored group, but Seniors will be phased out via Obama’s death panels.

The welfare state with its “safety nets” negates God’s Gift of Liberty, and it violates God’s Laws protecting private property, prohibiting theft, and condemning envy. And when a culture is based on Envy, Coercion and Theft, as ours now is, it is impossible for The People to live in peace with one another.
