COMMON CORE EDUCATION KEEPS ALL STUDENTS COMMON

Our children need to learn critical-thinking skills and stay on target.  Common Core standards do not develop these skills and leaves our students disadvantaged compared to other nations.  Our students deserve to have the involvement of their parents.

Wisconsin will be voting for a new State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  At stake is the education of your children, life-long data collected on them throughout their school and eventual working career.

Remember the stimulus money in 2009 that was offered to states to sign up for Common Core, the newest federal bureaucracy on education?  45 states signed on to receive federal money to implement Common Core in their state, before a curriculum had been written up or approved by real educators.  Now we’re finding out that there are serious concerns before we vote.  Should we retain Dr. Tony Evers (who supports Common Core), or consider someone else for our next State School Superintendent?

Some children in Milwaukee receive vouchers to attend the school of their choice.  Shouldn’t every child in the state have the opportunity to attend the very best school that matches his / her abilities?

I’m PRO-CHOICE, are you?  I’m in favor of PARENTS CHOOSING THE BEST SCHOOL FOR THEIR OWN CHILDREN.  Parents, please educate yourselves about OPPORTUNITIES for your children – SCHOOL CHOICE WEEK.

And challenge the federal initiative called COMMON CORE that federalizes your local school with Washington DC bureaucracy and curriculum while it removes local control (the input of parents).  This is another costly bureaucratic boondoggle that benefits those companies that stand to profit writing Common Core standards and curriculum, which does not align with textbooks, already adopted, purchased, and in use by local school districts.

Georgia is one of the five states that has refused to adopt Common Core.
Information on their website is applicable for all states.

If you’ve never heard of Common Core (relabeled the “Common Core Georgia Performance Standards” in Georgia), it’s a nationwide initiative designed to herd states into national K-12 standards and national tests – which ultimately will lead to a national curriculum and silence curriculum input from local parents, taxpayers, and educators.

Please be aware that one of the goals of Common Core is the creation of a lifelong DATA BASE on your children.  Most likely your child currently has no credit history, which is a gold mind for identify theft.  Researchers will make application to tap into that data base with the possible of loss of your child’s data.  All states who have signed on to Common Core are required to use the same data collection program, but this has not yet been turned on to the federal level.

Federal stimulus money that was offered to states was to build capacity (bureaucracy) but will not actually benefit children in the education system.
