Why Democrats don’t want a
secure border
Last Resistance – Frank Camp

Yesterday, an amendment was
proposed that would require the border to be fully secured for six months prior
to the Gang of Eight’s immigration bill taking effect. This amendment would not
alter the bill in any way, aside from first requiring a secure border. Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid immediately voted it down.
According to Breitbart:
“On Wednesday, Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked a vote on the border security amendment to
the ‘Gang of Eight’ immigration bill offered by Senate Judiciary Committee
ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA)…Grassley was pushing for an
up-or-down vote by the Senate on his amendment, which would have required the
border to be secured for six full months before any legalization of illegal
immigrants in America began. Reid objected to Grassley’s motion, effectively
implementing a 60-vote threshold that completely blocked any attempt at a fair
vote on the amendment.”
This is peculiar, in that
the Democrats often mention that they want a secure border just as much as
Republicans do. My belief is that the Democrats see Mexico
(as well as numerous other countries using Mexico as a gateway) as a deep
resource from which they can benefit. They believe that illegal immigrants will
vote for them because they are the ones offering citizenship. Democrats don’t
want the border secured, because that will inhibit the flow of potential new
voters. With millions of new voters, they will gain an extraordinary upper hand.
READER COMMENT: The title of this article is
misleading. Forget about the partisan slant. For it's not about
"party," per se. It's THE GLOBALISTS control-freak Progs who hijacked
the Democrat Party from true freedom-loving Liberals loyal to America , and also the globalists
who have virtually wrested control of the GOP as well.
Just look at who in Congress
is supporting the globalist agenda to give amnesty. Anyone with an IQ
above that of a turnip should be able to realize that amnesty would only serve
to attract millions more job-stealing illegals here.
The globalists are bent on
eroding U.S.
sovereignty and dissolving our border. Bush was / is a globalist, among others
in the GOP. He was a strong advocate for NAFTA, and just a couple months ago
came out in strong support for 'brother-globalist" Obama's amnesty plan.
Non-partisan NumbersUSA
rated Obama an F minus on immigration.
But also rated McCain an F minus.
Any Republican currently supporting amnesty, even with conditions, is a
globalist. And that includes Rand Paul. NumbersUSA also rates six Democrats in
Congress an A or an A plus. Those are but the few remaining true Liberals loyal
to America .
Ted Cruz, despite being
Hispanic, is staunchly opposed to amnesty, because he puts America 's best interests first.
