STAND WITH RAND
"I rise today to begin
to filibuster John Brennan’s nomination for the CIA. I will speak until I can no
longer speak. I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from
coast to coast that our Constitution is
important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American
should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a
crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court."
Three of the Senate's finest
were on all on the floor together, defending the Constitution and fighting for
our freedoms.
These three patriots took
over the Senate yesterday and forced their colleagues and the media to listen
to their arguments. They did what all Republicans should do — they stopped worrying about being
labeled obstructionists and fought for their principles.
As each hour passed, more
and more senators began coming to the floor to support the filibuster. It was a
powerful demonstration of what happens when conservatives genuinely fight for
what they believe in. Their arguments
become compelling and their courage becomes contagious.
