IS AMERICA MORE LIKE COMMUNISM THAN A DEMOCRACY?

Communism vs. Democracy:  A look at where America is headed
Patriot Update – David L. Goetsch – 3/20/2013

If you visit the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D. C. you will see the following words inscribed there: “Freedom is not free.” This inscription is prophetic. Indeed freedom is not free, and the cost of freedom is increasing everyday as President Obama and his fellow travelers on the left do their best to shackle Americans in the chains of government regulations, government control, and government coercion. In truth, conservatives and Christians in America now have only as much freedom as they are willing to fight for. For example, freedom of religion and freedom of speech are under constant attack from the left as liberals push their freedom-from-religion agenda and whittle away at freedom of speech using the coercive tactic known as political correctness.

Quoted are key passages from the inaugural address of President Harry Truman delivered on January 20, 1949 in which he compared and contrasted communism and democracy on the eve of the Korean War:

“Communism is based on the belief that man is so weak and inadequate that he is unable to govern himself, and therefore requires the rule of strong masters.” In America, those strong masters are government bureaucrats.

“Democracy is based on the conviction that man has the moral and intellectual capacity, as well as the inalienable right, to govern himself with reason and justice.”

“Communism subjects the individual to arrest without lawful cause, punishment without trial, and forced labor as chattel of the state. It decrees what information he shall receive, what art he shall produce, what leaders he shall follow, and thoughts he shall think.”

“Democracy maintains that government is established for the benefit of the individual, and is charged with the responsibility of protecting the rights of the individual and his freedom…”

Government control over the individual is becoming more and more the reality in America while individual liberty and personal freedom are in decline.

Did you ever think the government would tell you what size soda you could drink?

How many rounds of ammunition your gun could hold?

What type of flushing mechanism your toilet must have?

Did you ever think the government would transform public school into indoctrination centers to control the thoughts of your children
