The Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts, despite being less than perfect, are a huge step forward for Wisconsin. The Thomas B. Fordham Institute, in its study comparing the Common Core State Standards to the existing standards of each state, rated the Common Core at B+ and Wisconsin at D.
